For those hitting the beach, and waves this summer.

Reminder:
This is really simple. You can spot a rip current. Unfortunately, it's where it looks easiest and safest to enter the water. This is because the rip current is looping around and pulling back OUT. Hence no waves rolling IN. NEVER ENTER THE WATER HERE. If you are already in the water and get caught in a rip current (you'll know because you will suddenly be moved from your location and it will be impossible to swim against it) don't panic. Swim ACROSS, not against the rip current. For example, rather than trying to swim to shore while being pushed out, swim parallel to the beach and you will be able to get out. Then you can swim ashore.

Please educate friends or family visiting the beaches this summer. Stay safe

Join us on the beach in front of the new Beach Stage where the movie Jaws 2 will be shown on a big screen! DJ Tiger will play music videos from 5-7 PM, followed by the movie at 7. As the shorebird nesting season at Navarre Beach draws to a close, we kindly ask our cherished visitors to keep our adorable avian friends in mind! 🐣

Numerous species of shorebirds and seabirds find refuge along the stunning Atlantic and Gulf coasts of Florida. However, due to coastal development, their nesting habitats have been limited to protected stretches of beach within parks and preserves.

Join us in safeguarding the beach-nesting birds by following these simple guidelines:
🐦 Respect posted areas dedicated to shorebirds and seabirds.
🐦 Drive with caution to avoid any unintentional encounters with fluffy chicks.
🐦 Dispose of trash responsibly to deter potential predators.
🐦 Fly kites away from nesting zones to ensure undisturbed nesting grounds.
🐦 Remember, if the birds seem bothered, you're too close!
