Best Beach Getaways (formally known as) Navarre Properties is hiring for a Part-time, Maintenance Tech, 29 hours a week, holidays and every other weekend is required. On-call rotation after 30 days. Pay is based on experience.
Job Duties:
We are looking for a capable Maintenance Technician to accept the responsibility of preserving the exceptional condition and functionality of the vacation rental properties we manage.
Maintenance Technicians use their skills and expertise to provide a safe, secure, and proper operating environment for our guests. They are professionals with a willingness to serve the public with a keen sense of attention to detail.
As a Maintenance Technician, you will perform a variety of maintenance tasks that help us maintain our vacation rental properties to the best possible condition for our guests. The ideal candidate must be able to work autonomously and responsibly while observing all health and safety guidelines.
Responsibilities
● Performs pre-maintenance inspections prior to guest’s arrivals and responds to guest’s repair requests during their stay.
● Prepares maintenance works orders using the VR Works property management tool.
● Communicates with front desk staff, property manager, and ops manager to provide them information or assistance on a maintenance issue.
● Throughout the day, checks for new maintenance tasks in VR Works property management tool, performs tasks and updates remarks when completed.
● Performs a variety of maintenance activities:
○ Plumbing: repair or replace parts in showers, sinks, faucets, or toilets. Unclogs toilets, sinks or shower drains.
○ Hardware: repair or replace ceiling fans, front door locks, door stops, cabinet k***s, towel bars, and shelving. Replace a/c filters, clean ducts, repair sliding door locks and rollers, repair broken blinds or furniture, rehang closet doors and curtains.
○ Electrical equipment: repair or replace lamps, light bulbs and light covers, smoke detector batteries, TV remote batteries, bathroom exhaust fans, switch plates, breakers, and outlets. Troubleshoot minor electrical issues and refer them to the maintenance manager.
○ Appliances: repair or replace garbage disposals, ice makers, refrigerator water filters/ light bulbs, dishwashers, and microwaves. Perform minor repairs on stoves and refrigerators.
○ Structural: perform minor wall repairs including touch up painting on walls, ceiling, and trim. Hang mirrors, pictures and wall art.
○ Refer all major maintenance issues to the maintenance manager.
● Program TV's. Troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on cable/internet.
● Protect and care all tools and equipment.
● Perform off-season annual maintenance inspections and/or repairs
● Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
● Previous experience as a maintenance technician or facility maintenance is a plus.
● Knowledge of general maintenance and cleaning processes and methods.
● Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices.
● Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills.
● Good physical condition, able to climb ladders and stairs and lift up to 50 pounds.
● Must have flexible hours, including Saturdays and holidays.
● A go-getter with a "whatever-it-takes" attitude!
● High school diploma or equivalent.
