Rome, WI: A Town For All Seasons!
As we wrap up the autumn season, visions of snowflakes and crisp, cold weather start to become a reality. Even after the infamous "white stuff" blankets the ground, the fun in Rome never ceases.
Enter the season of snowshoeing, skiing, sledding, ice fishing, skating, or hiking across the snowy landscape. However you choose to play in it, it's all part of what makes Rome a town for winter fun.

The Christmas Bird Count, the nation's longest-running community science bird project, fuels National Audubon Society's work throughout the year. Between December 14th and January 5th, birders take up their binoculars and count their feathered friends in flocks.
Rome is excited to work alongside Audubon for our 7th annual Christmas Bird Count! The count will take place Monday, December 16, 2024 from 7:00am – noon.

A little bit of snow and winter chill can't stop those who hike and bike in Rome! Although there's a little less green grass and a few more white, fluffy flakes on the ground, many of the hiking trails in the Rome area can also become snowshoeing trails in the winter time. As for our fat-tire biking friends, those tires can travel on both sand and snow, so the riding doesn't stop when the temperatures drop!
For more information on the trails, recommendations, or to pick up your own pocket-sized map, stop by our office at 1146 County Rd D.
