Finishing up our trip in California…. one day at DIsneyland one day at Disney California Adventure. Here’s what we found… being a WDW person, I was skeptical with only two days and no hopper, but one day was plenty for both parks. Genie + was a game changer. We rope-dropped Rise of the Resistance and set our genie+ for hyperspace mountain while we waited. We were able to ride everything we wanted in both parks, some of them twice. We also had plenty of time for pictures, character meets and meals without feeling rushed. I will say, we had our 13 and 20 year old daughters with us, so we didn’t spend much time in Fantasyland, other than the must-dos.
The price for the Fantasmic dining plan was absolutely worth it! We got tickets for the first show, then stayed in our seats for the fireworks that followed. They put the fireworks projections onto the water so we had great seats for both! Fantasmic was amazing! If you are looking for one big splurge, definitely consider it.
The only disappointment for us was the brunch at Storytellers Cafe. We wanted Mickey waffles, so we were happy with that, but the rest of the food was subpar and the food that came from the back, not on the buffet, was all cold.
We stayed at the Cortana Inn and suites. If you are looking for an over the top Disney experience, this hotel was not it. It’s just a standard room with outside entrance. It did have a breakfast that started at 6:30 which allowed plenty of time for rope drop. It really is only .5 miles to walk to the park, however after walking all day in the parks, we found Uber to be the best option to get back. It cost around $7 each evening.
Overall, we had an amazing two days!
