So to all those that say oh u don't do anything to charge those prices !!
Started tuna prep at 6pm Thurs night just got into bed after fishing for 30 hrs and cleaning the massive amounts of fish we caught as well as taking whatever items were left over from the trip to put into my freezer here at home I literally just crawled into bed it's 3:24 Sunday morning!!!
6-12 Thurs night (6 hours)
11:30-6pm Fri prior to leaving for trip (6 1/2 hrs)
Left at 6pm Fri night to go fishing in the canyon got there at 10:30pm (4 1/2 hrs running boat to canyon) fishing from 10:30 pm Fri to 3pm sat afternoon! (161/2 hrs of fishing ) left at 3:10pm sat got back to the dock at 8:15pm sat (5hrs 5 min of running boat back to dock )
8:15pm sat to 2:45sun am = 6.5 hrs of cleaning fish and boat and doing garbage etc !!
4.5+16.5 + 5+6.5=32.5 hrs total
(16.5 hrs of fishing time 16 hrs of running boat or cleaning!)
4500$ trip !!
-800$ bait
-500$ tackle
-300$ mate
-2200$ fuel
=3800$
4500-3800=700$
700$ now minus the everyday $
-100$ out for dock fees plus insurance and permits
600$
-100$ for maintenance and materials
That's 500$ for me to take home.
Don't forget the man taking 6% to send to the Ukrainian veterans!
6% of 4500$ is 270$
500$- 270=$230.00
6.90$ an hr ( so for all those saying owner/captain makes bookoo money. It comes out to minimum wage in the 90s!
Now granted some trips u don't have to buy as much and I save here and there but to say I get rich off of this is insane and to say my prices are ridiculous and I should go even lower is even more absurd.!!!
Let's not forget God forbid I lose an engine or something major happens to the boat forget it !!
