Disney Cruise Line Introduces Pixar Day at Sea on Select Disney Fantasy Sailings in 2023.

Pixar Day at Sea will be included on nine select Disney Fantasy cruises from January through March 2023. Departing from Port Canaveral, Florida, the Disney Fantasy will sail to several Guest-favorite destinations in the eastern and western Caribbean. Eastern Caribbean itineraries feature stops in ports such as Tortola, St. Thomas and San Juan, Puerto Rico, while western Caribbean sailings visit Cozumel, Mexico; Grand Cayman; and Falmouth, Jamaica. Every cruise includes a visit to Disney’s private island oasis, Castaway Cay.

Featuring one-of-a-kind experiences, this day-long celebration on select seven-night voyages will bring to life the beloved Pixar tales of “Toy Story,” “Monsters, Inc.,” “The Incredibles,” “Finding Nemo” and more exclusively for Disney Cruise Line Guests. Back from 5 days at Disney! Disney World fans…here are my random thoughts.

-Genie plus and lightning lane can be a little complicated. If you book with me I can help you….

-We purchased Genie+ everyday. It was nice to have. Worth it for Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom. I don’t think we really needed it for Epcot. We also purchased individual lightning lane passes for Rise of the Resistance, Mickey’s Runaway Railway, and Avatar Flight of Passage. It was definitely worth it for these rides. We did not purchase lightning Lane for Remy’s ratatouille, space mountain, seven dwarves mine train, Everest Expedition, or Frozen. We were able to get on space mountain and Everest expedition through the day fairly easily. We were able to get on Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Frozen by waiting till the evening close to park closing. For Remy‘s Ratatouille Adventure, we used the online queue and were able to ride with a minimal wait.

We also rope dropped almost every day and were able to get into the parks 30 minutes earlier than anyone not staying at a Disney resort. This did help us to be able to ride just about everything that we wanted to. However, we had bad luck at Hollywood studios as rise of the resistance and slinky dog were both down for technical difficulties so we had to go over to Aerosmith rock ‘n’ roller coaster.

-Rise of the Resistance is so cool and unique! We first rode on it using our lightning Lane and then we rode again by waiting in the standby line later in the evening. This is actually new for this ride to be able to wait in the standby line.
-Galaxy Edge area is awesome, make sure to see it both daytime and at night.
-Smugglers Run is best if you have 6 people so you are flying your own millennium falcon.
-Soarin is still awesome as usual
-Mickey’s PhilHarmonic added a cute scene from Cocoa…we were the first to see it. Great addition!
-Flight of passage is now added to my must do rides when I visit. You can ride it for free without much wait if you go to the park 30 minutes early for resort guests.

-We were able to secure all our dining reservations that we wanted even though some were not initially available prior to the trip. We were able to book them by constantly checking for them 24 hours before when people cancelled their reservations.
-Sci Fi Cafe at Hollywood Studios was fun as always
-Olga Cantina was just okay. More hype than anything for a fun drink. I’ve heard it’s actually fun to go there at night so maybe next time I’ll try to book it for later.
-Blue milk is is sold in galaxy edge at a stand outside
-Yak and Yeti at Animal Kingdom was delicious and a nice break from standard burger,fries, pizza junk food.
-Be Our Guest was a cool dining experience in the Beast castle but kind of expensive. Since I’ve been there now and done that I won’t return. But the dining room that looks just like the movie is really cool!
-Tepando hibachi in Japan at Epcot was very good.

-Mobile food ordering was nice for quick service dining. I really enjoyed being able to sit down and wait for my food to be ready instead of standing in line.

-Building a light saber at Savi’s workshop was a cool and fun experience for Star Wars junkies, a little pricey though

-Disney Springs has grown through the years. Next time I will just get a quick bite so I can spend more time walking around here. We ate at planet Hollywood which was fine but too time consuming. I did walk through T-REX, that place is still really cool.

We stayed at Disney’s Pop Century. This was perfect for us. We were not planning on using the resort much on our trip. This gave us perfect access to use the skyliner for our park days to Hollywood studios and Epcot. The Skyliner is a great addition for transportation to the parks. It is much faster than waiting for the bus. Next time I might upgrade to a preferred room location. Once you get back to your resort, you don’t want to walk very far anymore lol.

-Weather was all over the place. Hot, cold. Rain. Pleasant.

-Harmonious nighttime show at Epcot was great
-Enchantment at magic kingdom was good.
-Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway is a new favorite, so cute!
-Remy ratatouille was also very cute!
-Food and Wine was fun, but it was too busy to try everything we wanted. Also the drunk people are annoying, probably because I wasn’t drunk.
-Epcot had way more construction than I was expecting
-I love how all of the park icons light up now
-You don’t seem to see characters as much right now. There were pop up parades and random character sightings but not near the character presence that I’m used to seeing. I think I saw Mickey once.

Overall it was a great time.
