This video hits the nail on the head!
We do our best here to meet all of our financial obligations and provide a place for you to know that your children are well cared for as well as cared about! We try our best to help you alleviate stress during your work day by knowing that your children are safe and having fun until you get home.
We try to keep our rates as low as possible because we know that childcare takes a big bite out of every family's budget...however the challenge is how can we do that and provide our staff with enough money to pay their bills?
We try to pay a fair wage, we provide free preschool and child care for all employees and we try be flexible with their schedules and make every attempt to provide a pleasant work environment where co-workers care about each other.
This video brings up some possible solutions in order to be able to afford to offer "benefits", paid holidays and paid vacations like most employees in other jobs are usually offered.
However, I never feel that we can depend on government to fix our problems because they do not move quickly and most often they only assist to a certain degree which leaves many gaps that we still need to fill on our own.
I may propose that we could do a fundraiser or 2 during the school year and make minor adjustments elsewhere in order to afford some supportive benefits for our staff...we will see what makes sense...
I hope that this video helps everyone to understand that at least at Being Cool-After School, LLC we do understand.
Take care,
Lee Newman
