Join us this Saturday, August 10, 2024, from 6-8 p.m. for a special tram tour around New Harmony to uncover the art hidden in plain sight. This tour, "A Legacy of Arts and Culture in New Harmony," starts at the Atheneum and ends with a view of the river. Along the way we will visit several art and architecture sites, sharing the unique stories of how they came to be along the banks of the Wabash River.

This tour is sponsored by Historic New Harmony and the New Harmony Gallery of Contemporary Art. It will be led by interpreter Heidi Doss.

Tickets:
New Harmony residents: FREE
USI students, faculty, and staff: FREE with USI ID
Adults: $10
Students (6-18) and non-USI student (with ID): $5
Children under 5: FREE

Word is spreading about Historic New Harmony’s tours of New Harmony, Indiana!

Our 1 p.m. history tour is sold out for this Friday, July 12, and there are only a few spots left on Thursday’s 1 p.m. history tour. These guided tours take around 2 hours and visit six or more historic sites.

You can still catch seats on our popular 10 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. tram tours on Thursday and Friday. These 45-minute tours feature a ride on our tram while an interpreter shares stories and offers an introduction to the community from the perspective of a local. You’ll learn about all the places to shop, eat, and visit while you’re in town.

Photographing fireflies with Terry Priest

The rain held off and we were able to take more guests out to see the fireflies. After 9:00, firefly activity became intense, even just in the area of trees right behind the Atheneum. We kept going until 9:35, and can attest to the fact that the fireflies seemed to love listening to the recording of Randy Pease singing his song “And the fireflies flicker.” Get some rest before the “Second Saturdays” activities tomorrow and hope for cooler, non-rainy skies.
