Wanted to wish all of our wonderful tour guests both past and present a wonderful and safe New Year!
In 2024 we will celebrate the 80th Anniversary of D-Day, Operation Market Garden and the beginning of the Battle of the Bulge or as the Germans called it “Die Wacht Am Rhein”!

As Stephen E. Ambrose’s iconic book "Band of Brothers" turns 31 this June, we wanted to take a moment to remember some of the extraordinary yet ordinary men who fought in Easy Company during WWII: Dick Winters, Brad Freeman, George Luz, Don Malarkey, Ed Shames, Herb Suerth, Jr., and Bill Wingett.

On the 31st anniversary of Stephen Ambrose's book "Band of Brothers" we remember some of the men who fought in Easy Company during WWII.

In observance of Memorial Day Stephen Ambrose Historical Tours would like to salute the veterans of the Armed Services who are still with us and those who have passed. We have had the great honor and privilege to know and travel with many vets over the years. They have provided our guests and staff with countless fond memories, wonderful accounts of their life experiences always spiced with modesty and good humor. The first Band of Brothers Tour group of 2023 finished their Toccoa visit on Saturday afternoon and then flew from Atlanta to England to begin what will be 15 amazing days following in the footsteps of Easy Company! Visiting Toccoa is a must for not only fans of Band of Brothers but history fans in general. We must remember that they were not the only group to train at Camp Toccoa! Members of the 501st, 511th and 517th also did training there as well!

Live near Oshkosh, Wisconsin? George Luz, Jr. will be giving his presentation, “Remembering The Band of Brothers,” at the EAA Aviation Museum on April 27.

George has some wonderful stories about his father, George Luz, and the other men of Easy Company, 506th PIR 101st Airborne Division. His presentation includes audio, video and correspondence between his dad and the men he served with. He also talks about the historic sites he has visited in Europe that are significant to the Band of Brothers.

George Luz, Jr., the son of Easy Company member George Luz, Sr., was recently a guest on Ben Power’s podcast, The Commander’s Voice. In “Brothers For Life: A Band of Brothers discussion with George Luz Jr.,” George shares letters Dick Winters and the men of Easy Company sent to one another and their families after the fighting stopped. George started attending Band of Brothers reunions in 1965, when the remaining members of Easy Company and their families would get together. During his discussion with Ben Powers he also shares some wonderful stories and photos from these yearly events. It is a must-watch!

In April 2022, SAHT introduced the Historian Masterclass. Four historians took about a dozen guests to Normandy for one week. For several of our historians, it was the first time back to Normandy since Covid, and being there with fellow historians was amazing. They shared stories from veteran interviews, rediscovered off-the-beaten-path sites, and explored American, Canadian, and British battle sites, museums, and cemeteries in depth. The guests were privy to all of this collaboration on this one-of-a-kind experience. SAHT will host another Historian Masterclass in April 2023— an in-depth study of the Breakout.
