Read today on FB a great quote about Professor Longhair! Our friend, Radiators founding member, guitarist/singer/songwriter Dave Malone said "As far as I’m concerned Fess is to New Orleans what Muddy Waters was to Chicago."

Yesterday, 2 guests and I did my morning music tour reaching Congo Square just before noon. As we crossed Louis Armstrong Park I froze and said 'I hear a funeral dirge, tour is over.' As a trio of friends we witnessed a celebration of the life of Kerry 'Fatman' Hunter in the Tremé. Dancing and singing in tribute to a Grammy-winning, prolific, kind person and witnessing when history meets culture. One of the most powerful events I have ever attended. Please help keep his rhythm going!

Come here the great story about this Classic Tune written by Allen Toussaint and initially released by Benny Spellman as a 'B' side to #9 R&B hit 'Lipstick Traces (On A Cigarette)'

Listen up-
(earlier I mistakenly posted the song as 'Mother In Law'--- that is THE SONG that starts my story. Come and hear the story New Orleans Music & Heritage Tour)

Jimmy Johnson’s band The Del-Rays classic ‘Fortune Teller’ was recorded at FAME in 1964 and later covered by The Who on their Live at Leeds album. The song was written by Allen Toussaint under the pseudonym Naomi Neville. Famestudios.com
