In the midst of Wedding Season the butterflies laid their eggs and these hungry caterpillars appeared on our milkweed. They have munched almost all of the greens and blossoms. We counted 16 on the plant the other day and now I count 5. Hopefully they ate their fill and found somewhere safe to chrysalis. Next year we are doubling down on milkweed and building some protective casings around the plants to hide these little angel babies from predators. This backyard is about to be even more magical.
