One door, two doors, red doors, blue doors,
In New Orleans, the magic just pours!
Jazz floats through green doors, and behind the bright yellow,
A gumbo chef's stirring, a friendly old fellow.
Twisting and turning down cobblestone streets,
Each door hides a mystery, a new friend to meet!
Purple doors swing open to the sound of a sax,
While behind teal doors, you'll find beignets stacked!
Pink doors might hide voodoo, or a sweet praline treat,
Come explore NOLA's doors, where dreams and history meet!

We might be biased but we think it's always a good time to visit New Orleans. That said, if you're looking for a reason to visit this June, here are just a few you can use 😉
Now y'all know we couldn't let AAPI Month go by without celebrating the incredible Vietnamese food scene in New Orleans. We got together with Chef Anh Luu, who knows firsthand as a born-and-raised Vietnamese New Orleanian just how vast the Vietnamese scene is here, to put together this self-guided Vietnamese food & drink tour around the Crescent City. To see the full tour, visit: https://bit.ly/4bJ2bjD Pro-tip, Chef Luu owns and operates the pop-up Xanh NOLA, which has an eye for creative cuisine and a Vietnamese twist on local favorites like the pho steak quesadilla or Viet-crawfish bread. Look for her at festivals and pop-ups around the city.

There's a wide variety of ways to view the nearby bayous - get up close and personal with nature in a kayak tour from Bayou Adventure, learn all about local plant and animal life on a guided boat tour from Cajun Pride Swamp Tours, or fly high with a herons-eye view of marshland at Zip NOLA! While music festivals across the world bring artists of all kinds to their stages, the food options at both French Quarter Fest and the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival are equally as iconic as the headlining acts. These dishes and vendors in particular will be at BOTH festivals, and you can bet we'll have our arms piled high with these good good eats as we jam out. Here's a list of these picture-perfect provisions: 1) Cochon de Lait Po-Boy | Walkers BBQ/Love at First Bite 2) Combo Plate (Crawfish Sack, Oyster Patty, Shrimp Beignets) | Patton's Caterers 3 & 4) Grilled Shrimp Pikliz, Haitian Crab, Macaroni au Gratin, Toasted Corn Ribs w/ Pepper and Coconut Cream | Fritai Nola 5) Stuffed Beignets | Loretta's Authentic Pralines 6) Mango Freeze | WWOZ 90.7 FM New Orleans 7) Hot Sausage Po-Boy | Vaucresson Sausage Co. 8 & 9) Yakinaku Po-Boy and Shrimp Yakisoba | Ajun Cajun Nola 10) Sno-Ball | Plum Street Sno-Balls 11) Crawfish and Meat Hand Pies | Mrs. Wheats New Orleans Meat Pies 12) Yakamein | Ms. Linda Green 🎶: Pete Rodriguez
It's #NationalBeerDay and we're celebrating in New Orleans by introducing you to one of our favorite new beer businesses, NOLA Beer Bus. It's NOLA's first hop-on, hop-off brewery experience. With two routes - an Uptown route that runs on Friday & Sunday, and a Mid-City route that runs on Saturday - it's one of our favorite ways to see New Orleans and enjoy a few brews. On Friday of this week, we took the Uptown Route to hit Brewery Saint X, The Courtyard Brewery, St. Pizza, Urban South Brewery, Miel Brewery & Taproom & NOLA Brewing (though that route also hits Port Orleans Brewing Company & the newly opened Ecology Beer Creative). It was such a fun way to explore the breweries without the worry of driving or transportation. On Saturdays, the Mid-City route hits Brieux Carré Brewing Company, Skeeta Hawk Brewing, Second Line Brewing, Parleaux Beer Lab & Bywater Brew Pub. We cannot recommend NOLA Beer Bus enough, especially for those who are interested in exploring the craft brewery scene in the Crescent City. Learn more: https://bit.ly/4cKglT8

Spooky season may be over but here in NOLA, we celebrate our spooky history 365 days a year. With over 300 years of history, New Orleans is full of famously haunted locales that are perfect for exploring. Here are just a few - all of which you can find in the French Quarter! 👻 Le Petit Théâtre Du Vieux Carré | As one of NOLA's most historic and iconic establishments for the performing arts, Le Petit Theatre has seen its fair share of audiences and actors come and go, though some have stuck behind - like Caroline, an actress who fell to her death in the courtyard, and a captain waiting in the balcony for his sweetheart to take the stage. 👻 Faulkner House Books | William Faulkner wrote his first novel while staying in this house in the 1920s. People swear they’ve seen his ghost sitting at the writing desk inside and even smelled his pipe smoke on occasion. 👻 Muriel's Jackson Square | After losing this house in a poker game, Pierre Antoine Lepardi Jourdan committed suicide upstairs in 1814. His ghost doesn't appear human but rather as a glimmer of sparkly light. There’s even a séance room that guests can visit that honors Jourdan’s spirit. 👻 Andrew Jackson Hotel, a French Quarter Inns Hotel | The Andrew Jackson Hotel hosts highly interactive ghosts, including five boys who died in a fire during its time as a boarding school who make their presence known by playing pranks and laughing. A former housekeeper ghost also rearranges guests' belongings and tidies up rooms by straightening towels and fluffing pillows. 👻 Hotel Monteleone | A stay at Hotel Monteleone comes with a dose of haunted history. Legend has it that the 14th floor (actually the 13th floor) of Hotel Monteleone is home to some paranormal activity. Guests have reported hearing the footsteps of Maurice Begere, the young ghost child who haunts the hotel. 👻 The Old Absinthe House | This 200-year-old bar is haunted by famous customers who used to imbibe there. We spent the day with the effervescent and talented Gladney checking out some of his favorite spots in New Orleans! In case you missed it live, here's a recap of the fun we had: 🎷 Baldwin & Co. coffee & bookstore | We started the day at Baldwin & Co., a unique, independent bookstore and coffee shop on St. Claude and Elysian Fields, honoring author James Baldwin. They offer a diverse book selection and feature a podcast studio for guests to use. 🎷 Toups' Meatery | Gladney's mom, Greta, joined us for lunch at one of their favorite spots: Toups' Meatery. This contemporary Cajun restaurant presents fine food and wine, specialty cocktails, and charcuterie inspired by deep-rooted Louisiana family traditions. Chef Isaac Toups himself even stopped by to join us! 🎷 NOCCA Foundation | Gladney teaches the future of New Orleans's music scene at his artistic alma mater, the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts. NOCCA has been a vital part of cultivating the young artists in our local community since 1973 in dance, media arts, music, theatre arts, visual arts, and creative writing. 🎷 The Elysian Bar | Before his show that night, we stopped to refresh with drinks and snacks and to finalize Gladney's setlist at the Elysian Bar at Hotel Peter & Paul, which is nestled in the heart of the beautiful and historic Marigny. 🎷 Snug Harbor Jazz Bistro | Time for the show! We ended the night at Gladney's old stomping grounds for his @nolaxnola504 show. As of this show, Snug is back to hosting incredible live music 7 days a week! Be on the lookout for Gladney's upcoming album - we definitely can't wait for it 🤩 🎵: Selenite by Gladney
