Hello everyone! 👋

I thought it would be a great time to reintroduce myself. I'm Nancy Slade.

New Smyrna Beach has been my happy place for 32 years. From the moment I first stepped onto the beach, it was love at first sight! Despite passing the entrance signs hundreds of times, it wasn't until 2021 that I actually explored the 53-acre community of Sea Woods. The natural landscape and majestic Live Oaks instantly drew me in, and by March 2022, our dream became a reality when we closed on our condo, affectionately named Sea Mist Escape 🐢, also known as "the OG!" Then, last November, we unexpectedly found a charming two-bedroom veranda condo, now called Sea Breeze Retreat 🦩.

I am passionate about sharing our homes away from home and strive to make every guest's stay in NSB a memorable one. Drawing from my own experiences as a renter, I aim to provide the best possible experience for my guests.

Along this journey, I've met some wonderful property owners who asked for some support and assistance, leading to my role as a co-host for several other beautiful properties.

Along with my owner-partners, I am dedicated to offering everyone an exceptional vacation experience, going above and beyond to ensure you feel comfortable and at home—from that first cup of coffee to a restful night's sleep and everything in between.

What began with our little condo has now grown to include seven (soon to be eight) 👀 unique properties in New Smyrna Beach. From condos and villas, to pool townhomes and now a single family home, there truly is something for everyone! 🏠 🏖️ 🌊 😎

And we have another leatherback nest. N3 was marked this morning. And did you know that Leatherbacks can dive up to 4,000 feet deep, stay underwater for 85 minutes and travel 3,700 miles from their nesting beach to feed. What an incredible creature.

Volusia Turtle Patrol needs your help. A leatherback sea turtle came ashore briefly on Easter Sunday around 1 p.m. near the Granada approach in Ormond Beach. We need photos of her. Hopefully someone was there, saw her and can provide us with pictures. Thank you!

Did you know?
Florida has nearly 2.5 million acres of seagrass meadows and seven different species of seagrass are found in Florida waters. The most common are shoal grass (Halodule wrightii,) turtle grass (Thalassia testudinum,) and manatee grass (Syringodium filiforme.) The others are commonly known as paddle grass, widgeon grass, star grass, and Johnson’s seagrass. All can serve as an important food source for manatees, which eat up to 10-15% of their body weight in vegetation daily.

Time for our yearly Easter reminder! Plastic Easter basket grass (left) lasts forever in the environment, often ending up in bird's nests and our waterways. Opt for the crinkled paper version (right). It eventually biodegrades and is much safer. Or even better, make your own re-purposed paper Easter grass so you can skip the plastic packaging all together! Share your eco-friendly Easter ideas with us in the comments! 🐰🐣🌱

Spring Break is here! Please remember, we have increased our staff to keep our community and visitors safe. We have a zero-tolerance approach regarding criminal violations, traffic infractions, and city ordinance violations. Some of the violations we will be looking for are possession of alcohol/tobacco/nicotine equipment under 21, DUI, vandalism, trespassing, speeding, careless driving, and noise violations.

Our youth curfew remains in effect, and we ask that ALL JUVENILES 17 and under depart the area by 11:00 PM. We are also enforcing the “0.02 rule,” which is a civil one-year suspension for any minor operating a vehicle who has been drinking and blows a 0.02 or declines a breathalyzer. Multiple surrounding agencies will be providing a mutual aid presence in our area to enforce the laws.

We welcome anyone who is planning to visit New Smyrna Beach, please enjoy yourself responsibly!
