The month of April is always a hectic time of year for me, and it has nothing to do with travel! For the past 12 years, I have been joined by my friend, Happy Bear, in visiting preschool, kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade classrooms in Coffey County! It can be exhausting, but it is rewarding to be back in the classroom and making a difference!

For those unfamiliar with Happy Bear, it is a program designed to teach children about good touch/bad touch. Happy Bear and I teach children to never keep secrets about touches. Children also learn what to do if they get a touch that makes them feel mad, sad or scared. We are opening up the door to discussion and giving our young children the power to say "NO!"

I'd like to thank my travel clients for their patience while I bounce in and out of the office. It's not easy juggling two gigs, in the midst of other mom/life duties. (Are your taxes filed yet??? 😬) By the end of April, I will be 100% back to doing what I love to do, which is planning travel. I will miss all the hugs and high 4's, but my heart will be full! 🐻❤️

Castaway Cay (pronounced “key”) is Disney’s private island in the Bahamas. We got to spend our second day visiting the island and relaxing on the beach.

While we didn’t do it this trip, my favorite memory was run/walking the Castaway Cay 5K with my son. We even got a medal when we finished! You have to sign up to do it, but it’s one more way to make wonderful memories as a family.

Castaway is included in many itineraries, so if it’s important to you, but sure you mention it during the planning phase. It’s worth a visit!

Many Disney cruise guests decorate their doors with custom magnets and fish extenders. For those who know me, you know my strength is organizing, not arts and crafts. I do enjoy seeing what people create and if I am ever inclined to participate, Etsy will be my first stop!

Disney ships have lots of room categories to fit every family’s needs. What I love the most is the split bathroom. Two people can be getting ready at once - game changer! I also love all the Disney touches that make Disney so MaGiCaL.

Here’s some pics of our Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah. King bed, fold out couch and upper berth, to fit up to 4 guests comfortably.

Day one on Disney Cruise Line Wish. It’s been 5 years since I’ve sailed Disney, so I was excited to set sail on the newest ship in the fleet. The best part, sharing it with my daughter!

It is not often you get to experience giving back to a destination you are visiting on vacation. Thanks to Virgin Voyages, I was able to do just that during our stop in the Dominican Republic. In this unique excursion, I was able to join a women’s co-op to learn how they recycle paper and transform the pieces into crafts like notebook covers, paper birds for jewelry, necklaces and more. It was a wonderful way to learn about their every day lives and how they give back to their community.

The cultured excursions are just one way Virgin Voyages distinguishes themselves from the other cruise lines.

Loved the Taino Bay cruise port in the town of Puerto Plata! It opened in 2021, and is a destination in itself. Guests can get off the ship and walk down the pier and enjoy their day without shelling out extra money for an excursion! ��One of the best features at the Taíno Bay cruise port is a large pool with in-pool loungers and a swim up bar. This pool is complimentary to guests!! �Complimentary beach beds and chairs are also available at the pool on a first come, first serve basis. With DJ music, tropical drinks, and a way to cool off from the strong Dominican sun, it’s easy to relax the day away!

So far, the food has been the ⭐️ of the show! Our first meal was at Test Kitchen. It was a 6-course meal with truly unique takes on common ingredients. Our second night was Gunbae, Korean BBQ. It was another unique dining experience. While I am not the most adventurous eater in my every day life, I am willing
to try new cuisines and dishes while on vacation. These two restaurants may cost extra on some cruise lines, but not on Virgin! They are a part of the included dining!!!

Bimini is the closest Caribbean island to the U.S., at just 50 miles away from south Florida. Virgin Voyages’ Scarlet Lady includes a stop at the Bimini Beach Club. In most cases, it is a late departure, meaning more time to explore the island. You can plan an excursion, enjoy the DJ while relaxing at the pool or chill on the beach. Both the pool and beach have games going throughout the day to keep the party going.

Not a bad spot to get some work done! I am learning about the adults-only cruise line, Virgin Voyages, while sailing on the Scarlet Lady. It’s an important part of the job - to take the training, ask questions, and experience the resort/cruise/tour before recommending it.

My happy place, Royal Caribbean’s private island in the Bahamas, CocoCay. This is my attempt to bring warmth to those of you struggling with this cold weather! It's PURA VIDA time! This summer was my third visit to Costa Rica. My family, along with two other families, spent a week in Costa Rica to celebrate our Seniors. While all inclusive resorts are ideal with teenagers, they are not my recommendation for Costa Rica. This is a country to be explored! The food, culture and outdoor adventures have something for every of visitor. Our favorite activities are zip lining, the hot springs, and the monkeys! Many of my clients have enjoyed surfing, rafting and the endless wildlife. If you have an adventurous family or you love going/doing while on vacation, consider Costa Rica for your next trip.
