The main railway station of Cairo, Egypt

The name is derived from the Ancient Egyptian pharaoh Ramses II, whose statue was erected by
Gamal Abdel Nasser on the square there in 1955.
Opened in 1856 and rebuilt in 1892.
Over 300,000 passengers daily rely on this railway system with lines running north from Cairo to Alexandria and south from Alexandria to Aswan.
