Starting Sunday, May 4, you can join NYC Bagel Tours at Fairway’s 74th Street Café to roll, boil, seed, and bake your own authentic New York bagels from scratch, led by our very own award-winning baker Reva Castillenti.

This is not your average cooking class — it’s a full-on, hands-in-dough, immersive experience. We’ll take you through every step of the traditional bagel-making process, share the history behind this iconic NYC staple, and send you home with fresh bagels, new skills, and great memories.

Siblings...you gotta love ‘em (most of the time, at least!). This , we’re celebrating iconic duos of the bagel biz.

Afia and Affan “Alex” Baka are award-winning bagel rollers who may just be the hands behind your favorite bagel in the city. After learning the tricks of the trade from their father Mike, Afia and Affan took the bagel world by a storm.

Chris Pugliese is the mastermind behind the iconic , and his brother, Scott Pugliese, is the owner of the popular neighborhood spot, Bagel World Park Slope, respectively. They’re also both very active in their communities, so giving back must run in the family!

Marvin and Murray Lender of are widely acknowledged for bringing bagels into the mainstream. With mass production and creative marketing strategies, these brothers transformed the bagel from a nichely Jewish food to a worldwide breakfast staple.
