It’s that time of year again! September brings around a delicious Mexican dish called Chiles en Nogada - keep an eye out for it as a special feature at your resort! Especially during the Mexican Independence Day celebrations this weekend and Monday, September 16th.

If you’ve never heard of this Mexican dish before, it’s a Poblano-chili pepper filled with a sweet mix of fruits, seeds and minced pork, covered with a nut sauce and pomegranate seeds.

This dish was originally created by nuns in Puebla in 1822, and presented to the general of the Mexican Army after he signed the treaty that recognized Mexico’s independence from Spain. Because of its colours (green, white, and red - the colours of the Mexican flag) and incomparable flavor, Chiles en Nogada has become iconic in Mexican cuisine.

As the dish serves as part of Mexican Independence celebrations and normally is accompanied with a seasonal menu, it’s hard to find them outside of August and September, so keep an eye for them when you see them!

Eat them while you can! Ask your resort if they’re offering Chiles En Nogada as a seasonal special!

🚨 NEW RESORT NEWS 🚨
Melia Casa Maya Cancun All-Inclusive Resort is scheduled to open up this coming December in the Hotel Zone. Melia took over the Casa Maya Cancun hotel, and are currently giving it a full renovation.

👉 Renderings look great!

👉 Kids & adult activities are planned.

👉 They will have an upgraded room category called Level, similar to Reserve at Paradisus.

Unfortunately not much else is known yet. But we’ll keep everyone updated as we learn more!

🚨RESORT RENOVATION NEWS🚨
Grand Sunset Princess and Grand Riviera Princess have scheduled renovations which will kick off May 2025.

Grand Sunset Princess will be first, with work starting the first week of May 2025 - renovating the common areas and restaurants, concluding by December 20,
2025.

Afterwards they will begin renovating at the Grand Riviera Princess and Princess Family Club Riviera, which is scheduled for completion by April 30, 2026.

In the end all rooms and restaurants and common areas will be renovated by Summer 2026!

One of the big reasons the new Tulum International Airport has very expensive transfer costs has been because of the entrance fees charged by the airport to the drivers. Luckily this is now changing as lower fees have been successfully negotiated! 🛬 🚐

The new entrance fees are: 100 pesos for cars, 150 pesos for wagons, 200 pesos for minibuses and 400 pesos for buses.

We’re hoping this means lower transfer rates are around the corner!
