Brooklyn Homestay

Brooklyn Homestay Stay with a local family on your next trip to New York, and experience the city just as a New Yorker does. We also provide towels and bath essentials. Sorry!

We are a young family who enjoy hosting visitors to New York. Our guests have come to us from Washington DC, Michigan, Charleston SC, Jamaica, Ukraine, Russia, Georgia, South Korea, Iran, and India, and we have enjoyed being a part of their New York experience. On your next trip to the Big Apple, come stay with us and experience New York as the locals do. Our home is located in Bay Ridge, at a 15

minute walk to the D subway line. We are also close to two bus routes at a 2 minute walk. We are in a quiet, tree lined neighborhood that is considered to be family-friendly and very safe. Restaurants, grocery stores and pharmacies are a short walk away. Midtown Manhattan is about 1 hour away by train, but we invite you to explore Brooklyn - so much to see, so much to love! Guest Space: The guest bedroom is large, well-lit and airy in a separate part of the house. It can easily accommodate 2 adults, possibly one small child. It has a private en suite bathroom, plenty of storage spaces, a TV with Amazon Prime channels and Netflix; and other amenities such as wireless internet access, hair dryer, umbrellas, a mini-fridge for your personal use, a converter/adaptor for your electronics. If you need anything, just ask! Complimentary tea, coffee and juices are provided in the dining room. You can use the microwave in the kitchen, however we do not allow cooking. Guest interaction: We enjoy interacting with our guests but we also respect the privacy of our guests. Your host is just a phone call or text message away, should you need anything. Please note that we do have three children, and although they are well-behaved, we understand that some of you may be looking for a vacation without children. We also have a sweet cat. If you are allergic to either children or cats, please do not request a booking! We are inclusive, and welcome people from all walks of life. We have a special place in our hearts for special needs children - so if there is one in your group, let us know and we will work out a special deal for you. Ready to book? Message us, or send us an email at [email protected] with a little information about yourself, what dates you have in mind, and the number of people in your group. Babies and children count as people too, so please include them in the guest count. We will get back to you soon.

Good morning.... And Happy Friday!

It's the perfect day to walk the historic Brooklyn Bridge with wonderful views of the city. I always recommend it to all my visitors. If you're here in the summer, walk from Manhattan to Brooklyn, then explore the DUMBO area and enjoy great pizza at Grimaldi's or some amazing fresh made ice cream at Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory.

Ever been to a subway birthday party?
Anything can happen in NYC!

At the very end of the subway platform, where the walls are dusty, and the floor is covered with dirt and grime, an old Chinese gentleman picks up his flute to play a plaintive note just as the D train streams into the station on a Monday morning.

Have a great week, everyone!

Happy 1st of October!

It's a gorgeous day in Brooklyn, New York. The perfect day to head to the beach, or walk the Brooklyn Bridge, or soak in the sun at Prospect Park.

Did you know that you can now take the ferry from Brooklyn into Manhattan? Today we did just that: take the ferry from Sunset Park to Governors Island.

Enjoy the pics!

Take a walk in Brooklyn and you might come across sights like this. Isn't it gorgeous?!

This lovely painted staircase is at 295 Baltic Street in downtown Brooklyn. Explore the neighborhood - there are plenty of small hole in the wall restaurants and pubs nearby.
