Space4Architecture (S4A) is a New York based architectural design studio working across different scales and typologies, from large scale hospitality and residential buildings to houses, interiors and custom furniture. At S4A we take pride on forging close collaborative relationships with our clients to produce spaces that address their specific needs and identities, inspiring and involving them t

hrough the design process, with the ultimate goal of improving the surroundings in which they live and work. The office’s reputation for simplicity and clarity of design strengthens with every project researched and completed, as we believe this to be the essential key to creating good and timeless environments for our clients. S4A’s nonhierarchical approach to design enables the office to create architecture free of stylistic limitations and firmly grounded in context. S4A was founded in 1999 by Michele Busiri-Vici. Together with current principal Clementina Ruggieri they share an academic background from both the US and Europe and more than 20 yrs professional experience in the United States. S4A was recently awarded 1st Prize for the competition “New Auditorium at the Riga Exhibition Center”, Latvia.

Entering the primary bedroom at our Oak Thread apartment in the Upper East Side.
The oak thread we used for wall paneling, doors and floors generates a common thread that ties the different spaces together throughout the apartment.

Our design for the two story In-Land makes it adaptable to a variety of sites, from open fields to rolling hills and forest settings.
The interiors have been developed with close attention to the natural elements through the selection of sustainable materials, adapting to and enhancing the atmosphere of the natural surroundings.
The interior layout have been designed to maximize space and functionality, allowing for different sizes and easy customization.
