January in New York offers plenty of sports action.
Basketball fans can catch an NBA game at Madison
Square Garden, home to the New York Knicks, or head to
the Barclays Center to see the Brooklyn Nets.
For hockey enthusiasts, the New York Rangers at the
Garden provide thrilling action.
The NFL season is in full swing with the playoffs
underway. While New York’s teams—the Giants and the
Jets—typically don’t play at home in January, if they make
it to the postseason, you can catch their games at
MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, just
outside the city. If you’re in NYC and the teams are still in
the running, sports bars throughout the city will be
packed with fans watching the games. The atmosphere is
electric, especially if there’s a chance for a local team to
make it to the Super Bowl.
