Hi we have launched our Vegan Food Tour of Boston! Let's explore Boston, through a vegan lens! We love showing off the beauty and innovative spirit of Boston through its past, present and future. We'll start off in the historic Beacon Hill neighborhood where we weave our way through the Black Heritage Trail and brick alleys, admire the country's first public gardens, explore the the cavernous small businesses of Back Bay while trying vegan ramen and buying shakshuka flavored rice herbs. We'll make our way over to admire the stunning architecture of Copley Square while discussing immigrant contributions to modern-day Boston. The highlight will be at the end of the tour where we visit a small woman-owned vegan business and finish off our tour with vegan charcuterie with the most unforgettable cashew-truffle cheese. This walking tour was designed with love for all the hidden gems, back alleys, small businesses and quirkiness that we have uncovered over the years of living in this city. We fell in love with Goa 🌴🥥 ...and it is the reason that we call ourselves Escape To. Do we tell you first about the old theater school in Panjim that puts on plays and hosted our travelers? Or the Narka Soor festival where locals burn evil spirits and dance to rave music? We could say that our favorite part is eating fresh salads and smoothies on the beach and then hopping over to a yoga class by a Russian immigrant who has found their new home in Ashwem. It could also be the tribal Konkani people who have a song and dance about rice. Or the couple who are farmers and make cacao drinks with coconut milk. Goa feels like it ours and so many immigrants from around the world who have escaped the world and landed in a colorful version of paradise. A deeply flawed yet beautiful country-India. Why do we keep doing tours there? We have met way too many amazing female entrepreneurs, like the taxi company hiring only female drivers. We have met many resilient women, like the survivors of acid attacks operating a cafe near the Taj Mahal. We have met too many female vegan chefs, like the powerful women of Bangalore who are veganizing recipes from their family's traditions. We have met too many female hotel staff, like the one that consoled me after I was inappropriately & uncomfortably asked on a date by the hotel manager. We do these tours, only because the women of India have supported us with warmth and professionalism. Without the strong India woman, our tours would not be. Let's continue the next 15 years of our journey by uplifting them to the best of our capacity.
