Many people think that the Door of No Return is only in Elmina Castle in Ghana, the point beyond which the newly enslaved would never been seen again. This is the Door of No Return in Ouidah, Benin, refashioned artistically to pay homage to those taken away.

Wonderful day in Ganvie, Benin, a village built on the lake. Historically, the story has it that the people of Ganvie, the Tofinu, were fleeing persecution and God revealed to them that their enemies could not survive on water. The Venice of Africa as it is known is classified as a World Heritage site by the United Nations. African Ancestral Tours visitors bought a boat to a chlid that did not have one.
