Thalía Barrios García is the owner and head cook of Levadura de Olla, a restaurant in Oaxaca known for its traditional cuisine inspired by her hometown, San Mateo Yucutindoo. The restaurant was awarded a Michelin star on May 15, 2024, recognizing its high-quality cooking and unique offerings. Last night was a first time experience for me. Star. and and so many dishes prepared with edible flowers.
I ate from my friend’s dishes which were vegetarian. And I really do not have an acquired taste for mole. I think I am a believer now. It may have simply been the first time I had it expertly prepared. The dish awakened my taste buds and left a memory. I had the Celebration mole made with at least 8 ingredients . If you can get a reservation, make sure to go.

Last week during #1:54 sat for lunch with Jnane Tamsna hotelier extraordinaire, Meryanne Loum-Martin. I’ve yet to host a travel group who does not want to spend time with Meryanne. As a business woman, wife, mother, writer, artist, she is in a class of her own. And as a creative force, she has hosted travelers from every continent. She is also leading a movement that has embraced artists on several continents,inter-generationally,centering artistic production of Black and brown peoples. Jnane Tamsna is known to have breathed fresh air into the meaning of the words “for us by us.” We are creators not simply artists to be consumed in this way she breaks with the practice of encouraging simple consumerism. She has an incisive business mind with a global vision. And if you’ve never attended one of her parties, you are missing out on a Vibe, with a capital “V.” Look forward to the events of 2024. I ran, no, just kidding. I flew from Portugal to Marrakech to prep for you all. This jaunt of two days included a visit to this property in the Ourika Valley. Ever heard of the Ourika Organic Garden. it is an amazing little gem I have been hearing about but this was my first visit. This is Amanda. What do you think? Care to join me. We spent the day in Imlii. We will return to the area with Jaki Shelton Green, North Carolina Poet Laureate, in June for the Creativity and Writing Salon. It will be a time of slow travel during which you can choose to pick up your pen to discover something perhaps ready to sprout.
