Here's a quick fact about the Federal Reserve Bank of New York building located at 33 Liberty Street in Lower Manhattan's Financial District - as public tours go, this one is only open for student groups, and not open to tours for the overall general public.

From the outside, visitors can still enjoy the sheer structural-power motif of its design. A view of the building's Renaissance-like architectural style, its gold vault was first erected before WWI, in the early 1900's.

We give Tours, not funerals !

The city of New York City has given me different titles: tourist, new yorker, sightseeing guide. When I first came to New York in 2000, my visit was only 1 week long but I knew the first hour after the plane landed that just like a first date that went well, it was not the last time. My expectations were met and I fell in love with The City That Never Sleeps even more.

After witnessing the horror of 9/11/01, I also witnessed the solidarity and resilience of New Yorkers. A city that was not willing to let fear and hate conquer its heart, I had to be part of this. So from 2003 I called The Big Apple Home. Just like the stories of millions of immigrants who came from Ellis Island, mine started with a dream, “If I can make it here, I can make it anywhere.” In my journey I have encountered so many incredible locals who bring to life a town already full of heart. The opportunities would sparkle here and there, I slowly but surely made my way until 2007 when it was time to show my appreciation to New York City. I passed the tour guide license exam with distinction and “started to spread the news”: there’s no place like New York, and everyone who visits it deserves to be treated with the same amount of energy, passion and care that the city displays everywhere.

It was time to learn and share, time to be curious and make people wonder, look and appreciate, hear and remember, smile and laugh, laugh and laugh again, it was time to give tours, fun tours, because just like the city did for me, people only remember how you make them feel. This is why we give tours, not funerals, and I hope you give me the honor to guide you one day.

Sincerely
