Friday morning's walk. What an adventure!

The steps near the memorial provided moments for reflecting on the city; finding its amazing colors, hidden and coupled with the reverent taste and meaning of life in New York.

Along the way to the World Trade Center, walking the streets that wind around the Financial District. That’s Manhattan,! You may locate a scent of serenity from a rare scenic view of a bouquet of flowers. It is worth the walk there and back again to your hotel room or condo.

With a stunning view of Trinity Church from Wall Street and more of New York’s 'hidden gems'. Here, they are situated in a quiet place. It’s a gem outside of Central Park.

A visit to The Financial District and the 911 Memorial and Museum, - a flora of beauty and grace with a delightful display of joy at this Greek restaurant nearby.

Enjoy

We give Tours, not funerals !

The city of New York City has given me different titles: tourist, new yorker, sightseeing guide. When I first came to New York in 2000, my visit was only 1 week long but I knew the first hour after the plane landed that just like a first date that went well, it was not the last time. My expectations were met and I fell in love with The City That Never Sleeps even more.

After witnessing the horror of 9/11/01, I also witnessed the solidarity and resilience of New Yorkers. A city that was not willing to let fear and hate conquer its heart, I had to be part of this. So from 2003 I called The Big Apple Home. Just like the stories of millions of immigrants who came from Ellis Island, mine started with a dream, “If I can make it here, I can make it anywhere.” In my journey I have encountered so many incredible locals who bring to life a town already full of heart. The opportunities would sparkle here and there, I slowly but surely made my way until 2007 when it was time to show my appreciation to New York City. I passed the tour guide license exam with distinction and “started to spread the news”: there’s no place like New York, and everyone who visits it deserves to be treated with the same amount of energy, passion and care that the city displays everywhere.

It was time to learn and share, time to be curious and make people wonder, look and appreciate, hear and remember, smile and laugh, laugh and laugh again, it was time to give tours, fun tours, because just like the city did for me, people only remember how you make them feel. This is why we give tours, not funerals, and I hope you give me the honor to guide you one day.

Sincerely
