Exciting News! 🌍🏆

We are thrilled to announce that we won this year’s SDG Pioneer category at the World Sustainability Awards, powered by Events! This recognition highlights the inspiring work of , one of our startups, which empowers financially excluded smallholder farmers by providing data-driven, cashless credits. These credits help farmers purchase agricultural supplies directly through Verqor’s platform, receiving them right on their fields—creating a positive impact on local communities with the support of AB InBev’s Grupo Modelo in Mexico.

We are incredibly honored to have received this award, and we want to take a moment to recognize the other outstanding finalists.

Our startup monitors the impact and interactions of agricultural practices on plant and soil biodiversity, through data interpretation software.

Providing expertise and solutions to regenerate biodiversity and/or reduce pollution while creating value, this Belgian startup uses pollen samples collected from bees to analyze biodiversity 🐝.

Alongside our corporate partner , BeeOdiversity is monitoring the impacts of clearing and local agricultural practices to identify priority areas for future monitoring, restoration, and agricultural improvement initiatives.

We are thrilled to announce the successful production of Kraft paper using Zafree’s virgin pulp made from banana farm waste.

This was possible thanks to our valued partners, / , Hansa beer and Zafree’s partner Kuriftu Paper Mills, for their invaluable collaboration and support.

This showcases the dedication of Zafree’s team of 30 individuals, all committed to pioneering sustainable solutions.

Their work is a shining example of what can be achieved when passion meets purpose, and we couldn’t be prouder to have them as part of our accelerator program. Verqor helps farmers with the support of local AB InBev’s in Mexico as part of their pilot project with us.

🧃 We’re making strides in our partnership with the world’s leading brewer, AB InBev, in which we are one of just 30 successful companies out of 2000+ applicants chosen by four of the world’s largest brands, , , and , to be part of Cohort 5 of their incredible initiative.

🌋 We have just got back from to hand installing a fleet of our Polly biodiversity monitoring devices at the base of a volcano in El Salvador! The project will assess and prioritise pilot sites based on land, habitats, and interventions, in order to best protect local biodiversity.

AB InBev will use this data to protect water for communities living in high-risk watersheds, including its ongoing work to restore the ecosystem and landscape close to the San Salvador volcano, with high risk to water supply in the area, including the supply to the city of San Salvador itself.

Our startup AgriFriend boosts smallholder farmers’ yield productivity, income, and skills by digitalizing the value chain with its digital training platform.
friend_2123 offers global companies with direct access to new customers in an untapped market, providing easier marketing efforts, and boosting sales.

As part of their pilot project, AgriFriend increased +3,000 farmers skilled, connected, and financially empowered, in accordance with AB InBev’s Smart Agriculture Sustainability Goal.

Our startup combines science and technology to bring climate resilience to hops.

Ekokoke hops are grown-indoors in a controlled environment, using exclusively renewable energy, which brings reliability of quantity and quality, while reducing the water footprint and eliminates food miles and using no pesticides in the process.

This Spanish startup has been developing the science for several years, but their technology had an incremental jump last year through the collaboration with within our 100+ program!

Ekonoke’s commitment to good practices, along with their expertise in indoor hop cultivation, aligns with our mission to accelerate our sustainable tomorrow 🌎!

Mi Terro

Our startup Mi Terro develops home compostable, flexible packaging materials from agricultural waste, while giving additional incomes to farmers all around the world. 🌎. Mi Terro’s process includes two steps: extracting polymers from the agricultural waste — including proteins, fibers and starch, then, when they have the polymers separated out, they modify them by grafting, which bonds monomers into polymers that then can be used in other manufacturing processes. The resulting material can be extruded — a similar process to making pasta; pressing a liquid-like material through a slit to shape it — which means it can be used in many applications where plastic is used today 🙌 We celebrate that we are one step closer to replacing plastic in Unilever's laundry pods using spent grain from AB InBev !
