SEE HAITI THROUGH OUR EYES. We were thrilled to tour this amazing facility on our last scouting trip. École des Chefs @worldcentralkitchen_edc professional culinary arts training program offers a 5 month long curriculum that prepares young, aspiring chefs for their first job in the commercial kitchens of local restaurants, hotels, caterers, and other institutions like schools or hospitals.
The program began in 2015 in partnership with the Haitian Department of Education, and in 2017, built and opened École des Chefs culinary school in Port-au-Prince. The building features a world-class, professional kitchen, along with a full dining room for training and hosting of events.
Now the country’s premier culinary school with over 40 students graduating each year, École des Chefs is creating a talented workforce for Haiti’s hospitality sector.
Their techniques-based curriculum focuses on knife skills, meal production, front of house service, kitchen hygiene, food safety, job search assistance, and other skills necessary for employment in the hospitality sector.
Upon graduation, students are placed in internships with hotels and higher end restaurants. The majority of these placements turn into full-time offers of employment for graduates.
École des Chefs prides itself on hands-on training and is led by one of the most respected chefs in Haiti, Mi-Sol Chevallier. Check out our insta stories for more behind the scenes look at the school. #haiti #culinary #myhaititravels #seehaitithroughoureyes

Beny Féy- Haitians have medicinal uses for 123 plant species belonging to more than 112 genera in 63 families. Herbal baths are important in Haitian culture in both spiritual and medicinal practices, and represent the second most important category of administration, after ingestion. Besides single medicinal plants, 22 herbal mixtures, mostly prepared as a concoction of plants or plant parts, are reported. Among these, a mixture prepared with the fruit of Calabash as a main ingredient is highly regarded by Haitians and is considered as a panacea. It was an absolute pleasure to experience this bath courtesy of Ekolojik Resort
Alas we've arrived to Cap Haitien and we are luxuriating at Ekolojic resort. Today's checklist, lounge by the pool with drink in hand ☺️
