âA Slice of Brooklyn" featured on Travel Channel.
12 years ago tonight, on March 7, 2012, the Travel Channel aired two half-hour episodes about our company called "A Slice of Brooklyn". It told the story of our owner Tony and the company he started as a way of highlighting the foods, neighborhoods, landmarks and movie locations that made Brooklyn famous while trying to make it in the shadows of Manhattan. Hereâs a short clip from the show that features the pizzerias we stop at on our Pizza Tour. #ThrowbackThursday

Frank Serpico get shot.
53 years ago today, on February 3, 1971, Brooklyn-born NYC police officer Frank Serpico was shot in the face during an arrest attempt at 778 Driggs Avenue in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn. The bullet severed an auditory nerve and left bullet fragments lodged in his brain. The circumstances surrounding Serpico's shooting were quickly called into question, raising the possibility that Serpico had been led to the apartment by his colleagues to be murdered. There was no formal investigation,[3] but Edgar Echevarria, who had shot Serpico, was subsequently convicted of attempted murder. This is the scene from the movie âSerpicoâ, starring Al Pacino, that depicts the shooting. #OnThisDay
