Sheryl Checkman Design Graphic Design Services for print and web. Prior to that she was an Art Director at the The Barton Gillet Company, a marketing communications firm.

Sheryl Checkman Design is a full-service design company specializing in corporate communications and creative solutions for both web and print design. Established in 1992, the firm is led by Sheryl Checkman, an award-winning designer with more than 25 years' experience in applying innovative yet pragmatic solutions to the full range of communications and design challenges. Before opening Checkman

Design, Sheryl was Vice President & Manager, Design Services, for the public relations agency Burson-Marsteller from 1981-1992. Sheryl graduated from Cornell University and attended a Masters program in Communications Design at Pratt Institute as well as a three-month design program at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark. She graduated from the High School of Music & Art in New York City. Sheryl is an avid skier and scuba diver. She swims, plays tennis, practices yoga and enjoys taking pictures, both above and below the water. She adds her creative signature to her photographs by creating Digital Fine Art which she currently exhibits in her online gallery. She recently launched a line of inspirational sports-themed T-shirts under the name Life is Balance®. In addition to her design work, Sheryl also creates custom photomontages for a variety of corporate and consumer clients.

So excited to have viewed “The Year of FLACO exhibition which opened at the New-York Historical Society today! Thank you to Rebecca Klassen and for curating this wonderful exhibit. And thank you Valerie Hartman and Stella Hamilton for helping preserve the Flaco memorial items and helping this exhibition come to life. I’m honored to have some of my photos and videos included in this labor of love. The exhibit opened today and will run through July 6. If you will be in NYC over the next few months don’t miss this homage to Flaco — the Eurasian Eagle Owl who touched so many hearts not only here in New York City, but across the country and around the world.

Jonathan Hollngsworth beautiful book, “FLACO,” honoring the life and unfortunate loss of our beloved Central Park Eurasian Eagle Owl contains many photographs (including some of mine) taken by the photographers who followed him with love throughout his year of freedom, as well as the artwork he inspired and the mementos left at his tree after his death. The NY Historical’s new exhibition, “The Year of Flaco” opens today and Jonathan will be signing books this evening between 6-8. I’ve seen the book and am now excited to be on my way to see the exhibition!
