The SS UNITED STATES departed Philadelphia today and is currently southbound on the Delaware River. Vinik Marine is towing her to Mobile Alabama where she’ll be prepared for her final resting place as an artificial reef in Okaloosa County, Florida.
The 1952 ocean liner won the Blue Riband award for the fastest transatlantic crossing. She completed the voyage in 3 days and 10 hours and still holds that record.

Check out Cunard Line’s newest cruise ship, the Queen Anne. She arrived in New York early this morning after her first Transatlantic voyage, departing Southampton on January 9. Guests spent 9 nights aboard the Queen Anne, which is Cunard’s second largest ship after the Queen Mary 2. She’s scheduled to sail this evening.
