After taking the red eye from #EWR on @united we made the most of our first day in #Ireland for #SpringBreak!
After dropping our luggage and freshening up @brookshotel_ (the concierge Conor made us feel so welcome — even though our rooms weren’t ready he brought us to a lovely lounge in the basement where we took some time to freshen up and get organized for the day ahead!
First stop: @queenoftartsdub for scones and tea to fuel us for the day ahead. While there we scored same-day tickets for a tour of Kilmainham Gaol… I had heard such great things and a scheduling snafu meant that I missed the 28-day mark to book tickets, but we scored tickets in their same day release and I’m *so* glad we did. Our tour guide was amazing and helped us better understand the history of Ireland, its struggle for independence and the role the jail and its prisoners played.
Next up, we headed to @trinitycollegedublin to take a campus tour and to see the #BookofKells. Despite dragging a bit, seeing the pages of the book on display and the library were so interesting!
Our last stop of the day was @thechurchdublin for dinner and traditional Irish music and dancing. A great way to finish up the day and now it’s time for bed!!

It’s been less than 24 hours since I returned from #Japan, and I can’t stop thinking about the whirlwind adventure we had there… in just a week we visited #Tokyo, #Hakone, #Kyoto, #Nara, and #Osaka.
