Silvercup Studios in Long Island City is one of New York’s most iconic film and television production studios. 🎬 📺

It was originally a bread bakery—Silvercup Bakery—before being converted into a production facility in the 1980s. The studio has hosted famous productions like The Sopranos, S*x and the City, 30 Rock, and many more. 🌟

The studio’s recognizable rooftop sign, which still says "Silvercup," is a well-known landmark visible from the Queensboro Bridge. Silvercup has multiple locations, but its main facility in Long Island City is its most famous.

Washington Square Arch is one of the park's most celebrated landmarks, constructed in 1892 to commemorate the centennial of George Washington's inauguration as the first U.S. president.

🔸️ Opened on Feb 2, 1913
🔸️ Designed by Reed and Stem, and Warren and Wetmore in the Beaux-Arts style.
🔸️The main concourse is known for its vaulted ceiling featuring a celestial mural with 2,500 stars.
🔸️ The main Concourse Ceiling was originally painted in 1912 by French artist Paul César Helleu. The 12 zodiac constellations were inadvertently reversed due to a medieval manuscript error.
🔸️ A small patch on the Main Concourse ceiling remains uncleaned to show how dirty it was before the restoration in the 1990s.
🔸️The four-faced clock on the information booth is made of opal and is valued at over $10 million.
🔸️ Near the Oyster Bar, there is an acoustic phenomenon that allows people to whisper at one corner and be heard clearly on the opposite side.
🔸️ Direct access to the 4, 5, 6, 7, and S subway lines.
