When I lead walking tours of Woodlawn Cemetery in The Bronx, I always visit the grave of this illustrator: “July Fourth” - cover art by J. C. Leyendecker from “The American Weekly” magazine; July 4, 1948. He is buried next to his brother, Frank, also an artist, and parents. Happy Independence Day 🇺🇸💥

The National Park Service announced the Governors Island National Monument will reopen tomorrow after its long closure. It will only be open weekends from July until October. We are booking tours to it now.
