Winter is beginning, and we are guiding people on whatever terrain Nature gives us. Our professional guides are ready to lead wildlife walks and cold weather hikes below treeline using micro spikes or snowshoes. And when and where there's enough snow, we'll guide Nordic ski lessons and tours on cross country skis to explore quiet groomed and backcountry trails. Before you go, we'll provide a pack list, some additional gear and equipment if you need it, and during your experience you'll be given winter survival tips. You can even ask for winter survival lessons on their own.

Today's canoe lesson and nature tour...

Moose! Last winter while guiding a nature hike along a mountain ridge in New Hampshire's Lakes Region in sub-freezing temperatures, we came across this female moose feeding on a sapling of ice-covered red spruce needles...crunch, crunch, crunch! Moose eat the twigs and bark of hobblebush, striped and other maples, and evergreens during winter, and they especially appreciate the evergreens as a windscreen and for shade from the sun. 🌲❄

FAQ: What time of year do you run your statewide custom guided adventures? A: There's something to do all year for all abilities! (scroll down) Canoeing/Kayaking lessons and inn-to-inn tours mid-May-Oct. Canoe Camping June-Sept. Biking (hybrid, mountain, fat, electric) lessons and tours May-Oct. Target Archery depends where, but indoor available year-round and outdoor May-Oct. Survival and Backcountry Skills year-round. Hiking (in summer and fall, as well as cold seasons below treeline and with snowshoes/snowspikes) year-round. Backpacking/Trekking* June-Sept. Nordic skiing (cross-country and backcountry) lessons and inn-to-inn tours Dec./Jan.-Apr.
