Étude Arts celebrates Nicholas Newton who makes his debut tonight at the Opéra national de Paris in a new production of Rameau’s Castor et Pollux directed by Peter Sellars and led by Teodor Currentzis. Performances of Rameau’s lyric tragedy, first performed in 1737, run through February 23 at the Palais Garnier. TOI TOI TOI!!!

Étude Arts celebrates Paul Appleby who joins the NYC premiere cast of Christopher Cerrone and Stephanie Fleischmann’s In A Grove in a new production by Mary Birnbaum presented by PROTOTYPE Festival. In A Grove is a haunting meditation on the impossibility of truth and the subjectivity of memory and perception inspired by Ryūnosuke Akutagawa’s classic story. This new work is commissioned by the Los Angeles Opera and co-Produced by the Pittsburgh Opera and Metropolis Ensemble and receives performances January 16 - 19. TOI TOI TOI!!!
