Update from the Fall fundraising banquet:
The Potlatch events on October 2 and 3, 2024 were so encouraging! All together there were 120 people in attendance (34 new). As a result of this year’s banquet (with gifts and new 1-year pledges) more than $37,000 was raised. In addition, Tilikum recently received a large gift for the Lakeside Village and 297 families are praying for Tilikum on a regular basis!
It is exciting to see how God is working!

If you've ever been to Camp Tilikum, then you know how FUN our barn is! It is one of the first buildings that you pass on your way up to the main part of camp, and was originally built in 1904. It currently houses our donkey (Izzy), and 4 goats (Hilda, Sophie, Kateri, and Zeke). During our summer programs, we bring the campers inside to meet our animals, and our retreat guests are also able to see them roaming through the field.

Camp Tilikum's Potlatch Banquet is coming up next week. We have more than 100 people signed up already, but we have expanded this year and have room for about 20 more per night.

You are invited to attend one of the two Potlatch 2024 Celebration Banquet evenings! Wednesday October 2, from 6:30PM - 8:00PM, or Thursday, October 3, from 4:30PM to 6:00PM. Place: The Fawver Center at Camp Tilikum Menu: salmon, Potlatch potatoes, salad, and fresh fruit cobbler are served and followed by a meaningful program.

The solar project is completed! Thank you to everyone who helped make this project a reality. It will reduce the total electric bill at Camp Tilikum by about 75% . Portland General

This past week Tilikum wrapped up another great summer camp season! Here is a photo of the college and high school summer staff at the farewell banquet. A lot of learning and personal growth happens when you spend a summer ministering to kids! It is hard to say good bye.

Around the grounds at Camp Tilikum are special places hidden in the woods called "trail talk spots". These are camper group discussion areas. The minimal distractions of these locations make them ideal for kids to learn about following Jesus.

It's a beautiful week for the start of the summer camp season. With Day Camp and Quest we have 160 campers having fun and learning about Jesus.

Our Day Camp and Quest counselors are saying goodbye to training, and hello to the first week of camp on Monday! We are so excited to welcome our first group of campers next week!

The very first building in the Lakeside Village Project is the utility shed. This will be the connection point for the new electrical service from Portland General Electric, the solar array and the water system for the cabins. The solar project is almost completed! A&R Solar have been working for a couple months to install the ground mount array and panels in the pasture behind the barn. Now that the sun is shining, it will begin to produce energy and reduce the electric bill at Camp Tilikum by about $15,000 a year. Thanks

Staffing issues have been common for many businesses and ministries including Tilikum the last few years. We praise the Lord that Grant Banham, Program Director, has almost finished hiring an excellent group of college summer staff. He is recruiting for high school summer staff during the months of March and April. Can you help spread the word about hiring staff at your church, school, relatives and friends? Here is the link:

Running a week of summer camp that includes the 4th of July is always a little tricky depending on which day the holiday lands. This year the 4th is on a Thursday.
