This cabin was built in 1917 with an apartment addition being added in the 1980's. Some interesting facts about the cabin (according to the book that was written by the son of the original owner):
*It is made from American Chestnut cut from the property and surrounding properties.
*It was the first cabin in the Carson Springs area to have electricity and a phone. They origin

ally powered the cabin by battery.
*Former President Truman once visited the cabin in 1955 to promote the Ramp Festival.
*The cabin was well known to be a political meeting place where people running for local, state, and
national public office met to organize campaign strategies.
*There have been numerous visitors from the entertainment world to visit the cabin such as Tennessee
Ernie Ford and Minnie Pearl. We hope that you will come to visit and enjoy the beauty and relaxation of the area.
