On Tuesday the Spindrift went out for offshore halibut and the bite was absolutely on 🔥🔥🔥🔥 The whole boat of 12 fishermen and 2 crew were limited out and back at the dock by 12:15! They threw back several little ones; the largest fish was a 51" and there were a few others in the 40's.

We have an offshore halibut trip available tomorrow and hoping for more of the same!! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

***First Tuna Trips Available***

We have two 12 hour tuna trips now available to book on Monday, July 29 and Wednesday, July 31. Tuna are reportedly being found consistently just outside of our 50 mile range. Because of the distance, our full fleet is not yet booking until we see some numbers just a bit closer in, but Captain Jerald on the Spindrift decided he just can’t wait to get out there!

This is an offshore 12 hour trip, and at 50+ miles the run out time for the Spindrift will likely be 3+ hours. As always, offshore/full day trips are subject to weather (wind and swell) conditions. We fish a maximum of 10 people and need a minimum of 6 to run.

12 Hour Albacore Tuna is $375 per person. Sorry but there are no discounts, and no youth under 12 for tuna. You can book your trip online or by calling 541-867-4470. A $100 deposit is taken if you book on the phone, and full payment for booking online. Deposits are non-refundable this close to the trip date, so please be sure and check with your buddies before you snag your spots. *More dates will become available pending further reports from this and next week.*

***Spring All-Depth Halibut Extended***

From ODFW:
Central Oregon Coast Subarea (Cape Falcon to Humbug Mountain) spring all-depth halibut fishery will remain open July 1 through July 31, seven days per week.

We added several halibut trips to our online calendar for July. Head to our website to check it out and pick your dates(s)!

*No news on tuna yet, but sounds like a few private and commercial boats are planning to do exploratory runs this weekend, so we might have an update by Monday.

The lingcod bite was great today with several big ol' dragons brought in across multiple boats!

We're anticipating a busy day at the marina tomorrow, so just a reminder to everyone to be patient with each other (and us!) if there are lines, enjoy the day, and be safe!

The Crackerjack is out on its first halibut trip of the year and killin' it so far!! Here's a nice 46" butt wrangled this morning. We have room available this week, and just a couple weekend spots left in May. Still early in the season and lots of halibut left to hunt 🎣

Halibut season is here and so far the weather has been a bit tough and we're definitely working for the fish. Everybody came away with at least one and the biggest 'but of the day for the opener was a 51 incher.

While the Umatilla II is all about kissing the fish, the Miss Raven is over here hugging them! What would you do, kiss or hug? Me, I just like to fry 'em up and eat 'em!! 😋

The ocean this Friday and Saturday is looking like it could be the best we've seen all year! These would be great days to take out first-timers and younger kids!

The half day rockfish & lingcod trip is just $100 per person, $50 for ages 12 and under. Crabbing has been pretty slow, but if you want to try your luck you can add a pot for $25.

***SALMON SEASON DATES***

The Pacific Fishery Management Council finalized their recommendations for 2024 ocean salmon seasons on April 10. These season recommendations are not fully official until final approval by the Secretary of Commerce and ODFW by May 15. For in-season ocean salmon updates, refer to the ODFW ocean salmon webpage and sign up for updates.

*Central Oregon Coast (Cape Falcon to Humbug Mt.)*

Selective Season (fin-clipped coho only): Coho salmon retention will be open from June 15 through the earlier of August 18 or the quota of 45,000 adipose fin-clipped coho.

Non-Selective Season (all coho): Coho salmon retention will be open September 1 through the earlier of September 30 or the quota of 25,000 coho. The coho minimum length is 16”.

Chinook salmon opened on March 15 and will continue through October 31. During October the fishery is only open inside the 40-fathom line. The Chinook minimum length is 24”.

We opened up a bunch of salmon trips for late June and into August, so take a look at the calendar online to choose your date! Full day Salmon/Rockfish Combo trips are also be available. Give us a call if you don't see the trip you want on a certain day, and we can probably add it for you!

Pretty sporty today, but the Umatilla II got out fishing and found some lings and rockfish. Umatilla II and Gracie K will be out fishing tomorrow and Tuesday, and Spindrift joins the party with a trip Tuesday as well. There are spots left all week, give us a call if you need some salt air therapy! 🌊
