23 years since the morning we all remember.

Often compared to the day JFK was assassinated (an attack on our President is an attack on America) and the day the Challenger blew up (watched live by millions of children in school), but nothing could have prepared me for the horror of that day. And yet, that day did not prepare me for the horror of October 7th, either, which was another attack on our democratic values.

I am thinking of everyone today. Everyone who remembers. Everyone who lost someone. Everyone who feared they lost someone. Everyone who struggled for days, weeks, months, years afterwards with feeling safe.

Please hug your loved ones. Right wrongs. Apologize. Let go of grudges and resentments. Forget political debates.

But never forget 9/11/01.

First time for everything.

My flight was cancelled. They rebooked me on a flight 2 days later, after my retreat had already started.

I had to pay an arm and a leg to get in one day earlier, when the rest of my guests arrive. So I upgraded my seat.

This is why I usually get travel insurance. Somehow I missed it this time. Never again.

I'm so grateful to Melissa Jean, Amanda Shipley, and Bernadette Sanders Flynn for helping me figure out all the parts we had to move around to make this work.

But mostly, I'm grateful for Rochelle Flynn Avignon at Go Farther Travel for immediately helping me find a better option while I waited on hold with Delta. I waited 100 minutes and then my phone died. Thank God my travel planner was there to save the day!
