Did you know the Niagara Falls Gorge is 12,300 years old!

Back in the ice age, large torrents of water were released from the melting ice, draining into what is now known as the Niagara River!

The deepest section of the river is 170ft deep.

There are several hikes along the gorge, which are just minutes from Niagara Falls State Park, ranging from easy to more difficult.

It is also another spot with a great sunset view during the more cooler parts of the day!

My wife and I took an Over The Falls Tour celebrating our 40th anniversary. I can not say enough about how great this was. Our guide Dale was one of the best tour guides I've ever had. Maid of the Mist is excited to offer extended hours (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.) the day of the Total Solar Eclipse (Monday, Apr. 8) to accommodate the projected high volume of eclipse enthusiasts at Niagara Falls State Park. Vessel tour operations will be open for our normal operation throughout the day of the eclipse on a first come, first served basis. For the day of the eclipse, the Crow’s Nest will be closed and Observation Deck only tickets will not be available for sale.

The Niagara Falls fireworks series returns this winter with a five-minute display every Friday and Saturday from November 18 to December 16, 2023, as well as nightly from December 22, 2023 to January 7, 2024.

All displays will occur at 8 p.m., except for two special displays at both 8:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. (midnight) on New Year's Eve (December 31).
