Toni June left Long Island for Nashville in 2022, chasing her music dreams, and in 2024, she crossed paths with blues-rock guitarist Zachary Giles from Jonesboro, Arkansas. Together, they formed June & Giles, a retro-fueled powerhouse blending New Orleans blues, street jazz, and swampy southern rock. With Toni’s soulful vocals, Zach’s gritty guitar, and a rhythm section straight out of the Motown era, this band brings the heat like no other! Now they are rolling into Norfork this New Year's for a groovy show you won't soon forget!

We are hoping our guests will get the significance of this❤️ Guide extraordinaire, comedian, incredible campsite cook and now mistletoe shot accurate and fetching Steve Hudgens dropped some off for us as he went by (from the river of course) helping us create a Hallmark moment for our guests.

Today we hung up Brad. He’s a tule elk from California. We have 4 species of elk in North America, Rocky Mountains (the kind they have transplanted here in Arkansas, Missouri and Kentucky because eastern elk is extinct), Manitoba elk, Roosevelt elk and Tule. The tule elk almost went into extinction but was saved by one man. Then due to ignorance of people, we nearly lost them again!!! They only live in California and have decent numbers once again. They are the smallest of elk with cows being on average 400 pounds and bulls being 600 pounds. So in prospective the 10 point next to him was a 320 pound Arkansas delta white tail buck. He looks pretty small compared to Brad. And Brad is small compared to the elk running around here in Arkansas that typically weight in at 1,000 pounds and up!! If you plan a trip to see the elk in Jasper, they are HUGE!!

We now are an intimate small wedding venue right on the majestic White River. We have an á la carte approach to the wedding venue. You can rent out the deck for 24 hours, a cabin or the entire place, you can hire our incredibly talented in house photographer Kelli Bradley at Sweet Tea Photography or have a family member take them, you can decorate it yourself or hire us to decorate, we have chairs and tables to rent or bring your own. We do not cater the event but we can help you find just the right catering service

One of the unexpected pleasures of living here is huge amounts of birds. This app is a lot of fun learning to recognize all the different calls and songs of the thousands of different birds. It listens and lists the birds it hears close by. We have had it pick up 27 different birds.

Good misty blue morning to everyone, the guides are hard at it this morning. We’ve notice a change in guests in the age demographics. As the weather becomes milder, we are having a lot more retirees book especially during the weekdays than families.

We are sitting on the swing tonight listening to the whip-poor-wills defend their territory to the other whip-poor-wills. Notice all the lightening bugs.

We are getting things in shape at the Retreat little by little. 6 loads of 22 yard base limestone gravel.

The rain caught me while I was running Between the cabins and lodge getting them ready for the guests.

We’ve gotten a bit bougie at Peace Like a Riverside Retreat. We’ve added Keurig duos so our guest can have one cup or a 60 ounce cup of coffee (12 cup carafe) 😎 Our guests should absolutely love these. It’s the best of both worlds!! This is our 2 bedroom Outdoor Adventure Cabin
