We are very excited to announce that Cameron Nixon will be joining us as a guide on Tour #7 this year! Cameron is one of the brightest minds in severe weather chasing and holds a PhD in meteorology. We are happy to have him aboard!

Bio:
Cameron found his passion for storms when his parents gifted him his first camera. He could find no better subject than the sky, and filled up all his memory cards with pictures of clouds. When he realized he could learn to predict the next time the sky showed off, he took an intense interest in storm chasing and being there for the next shot. Though he thought he wanted to be on TV, his career goals suddenly changed when he witnessed the Rochelle, Illinois EF4 on April 9th, 2015. From then onward, he could not stop learning about supercells and tornadoes, how they work, and why they behave like they do. He graduated from Valparaiso University and Texas Tech University, and received his PhD from Central Michigan University. He's been lucky to have chased storms from Texas to North Dakota every year since 2015, and has a knack for sniffing out the most picturesque of "mothership" storms. Cameron truly feels at home in the Great Plains, and he cannot wait to share his love of the sky with all of you on ETT this spring!

We would like to welcome accomplished storm chaser Adri Mozeris to our guiding staff on Tour #4 this year!

Her Bio: Adri's deep passion for weather began to blossom at the age of six when Tropical Storm Nora blasted Arizona with high winds (recorded up to 125mph gusts near her home), heavy rain, and incredible lightning in 1997. She has been hooked on severe weather ever since, witnessing everything from heavy snow in the Northeast to tornadoes, hurricanes, massive haboobs, and numerous earthquakes in Southern California.
Adri began chasing weather when she documented the 2007 San Diego wildfires from close range near her home. She started chasing regularly in 2011, intercepting Hurricanes Iselle, Sandy, and later Barry and Laura. At MonsoonCon 2015, Adri got acquainted with MadWX chasers, including the late Corbin Jaeger, ETT’s Trey Greenwood, and Christian Cleary, who soon became her mentors and best friends. Adri's first tornado chase was iconically the Dodge City, KS tornado outbreak in May 2016. Shortly thereafter, Adri became a member of MadWX summer of 2017. Together with the help of Scotty Casbere, they built a tornado probe, The CM-17, in remembrance of Corbin Jaeger shortly after his untimely passing.
That summer, Adri was brought on as a member of MonsoonCon alongside Trey Greenwood and Christian Cleary in 2018, which attracted guest speakers like veteran chasers Tim Marshall and Reed Timmer, etc. A few months later, Adri left AZ and CA behind to move to Norman, OK, and pursue her dreams. Even being a past guest guide with ETT. Since starting out and with Dodge City giving her a major head start, Adri has seen almost 100 tornadoes in her lifetime. Adri is a self-taught photographer and videographer who brings a unique perspective through her images and videos. When she is not chasing, Adri enjoys practicing her photography and learning more about weather. In fact, after witnessing first hand the unfortunate events that took place in Rolling Fork, MS last year, it motivated her to start pursuing a future career in nursing

We are excited to have veteran chaser Micah Hart aboard for tours 4, 6, and 7 this year!

His Bio: Micah grew up in western Oklahoma and has always had a passion forweather. Some of his first memories of severe weather are of Gary Englandproviding tornado coverage on May 3, 1999. Another memory is taking shelterwhile at school on October 9, 2001, during a fall outbreak in westernOklahoma. All of which helped grow his interest in severe weather. Micahbegan storm spotting locally in 2006 with his brother-in-law at the localvolunteer fire department. On May 19, 2010, he saw his first tornado nearLeedey, OK, and another near Elmore City, OK during a High-Risk Event. Hehas been chasing ever since, traveling thousands of miles per year, witnessing over 100 tornadoes, and a few hurricanes. Micah’s favorite chasewas on May 17, 2019, in Southwest Kansas where he witnessed 6 tornadoesover the course of 90 miles: his first ever tornadoes while chasing solo. Micahis excited to join Extreme Tornado Tours this season. He can’t wait to meetthe guests and share incredible experiences with them on their storm chasingadventures.

We would like to welcome tour guide Tara Whichello to our guiding team for Tours 1 and 2 this season!

Her Bio: Growing up in a small town in upstate New York, Tara’s interest in severe weather was fueled by her father who recorded every television show on the subject that he could get his hands on. Eventually, she found herself wanting to be outside on the rare occasion that a tornado warning was issued in her state. After her father’s passing, she promised herself that she would follow through with her father’s dream and learn how to storm chase. In 2015, she went on her first storm chasing tour and promptly moved to Colorado to chase on her own. In 2016, she documented her first tornado as a solo chaser and will never forget the feeling of accomplishing her dreams. Since then, she has witnessed over 50 tornados and experienced the eye of Hurricane Michael. In addition to storm chasing, Tara has a background in art education and photography and is eager to lend a helping hand to those who want to learn. She has a passion for the blend of art and science and is thrilled to share it with the incredible guests of Extreme Tornado Tours.

Check out this monster hail stone that was found in Ada, Oklahoma yesterday. This is the biggest stone to have been recorded in Oklahoma since 2011!

Wow...some of those storms yesterday produced a lot of damaging hail. While several communities saw very large hail, the biggest fell in Ada on Thursday afternoon. We've been going over all the reports from yesterday, and so far the largest hailstone reported was this one - a 5.25 inch diameter stone that fell in the southeast part of Ada. That's a new record for the largest stone reported in Pontotoc County since reliable records began in 1950 (previous record was 3.25" near Francis on 3/26/2017). It also appears to be the largest reported/recorded hailstone in Oklahoma since 5/23/2011, when a 6" hailstone was recorded in Caddo County.

Are you interested in what the 2024 season might be like for tornado frequency? Our Meteorologist Trey Greenwood dives into this subject on his YouTube page.

My 2024 Tornado Season Forecast is LIVE! In it, we'll attempt to make a forecast for tornado frequency and distribution across the United States for the upcoming 2024 tornado season (March-June). We'll use global climate teleconnections (such as the El Niño Southern Oscillation), Gulf of Mexico sea surface temperature anomalies, and drought in the elevated mixed layer source region to help us predict whether we'll see an above-average, near-normal, or below-average tornado count this spring, as well as which areas might be favored for enhanced tornado activity.
