Here are some foliage updates for the North Conway, Conway, to Madison area. The photos below are from Thursday evening, 10/10, in the Conway Village area and Crystal Lake in Eaton. While this area is undoubtedly at its peak, there is still a ways to go with lots of green to be found.

To the north of Conway Village, the entire side of Cranmore, Black Cap, Peaked, and Rattlesnake is still holding its green foliage, as it typically does late into the season. Meanwhile, heading south on Route 153, the foliage is just coming into peak, and the ever-popular Crystal Lake never disappoints. Get there early for potential AM fog!

As we approach the middle part of October, peak foliage is just beginning around the Whites! The notches are at peak or close to it, depending on elevation. The photos below were taken along the Kancamagus Highway/Route 112 and Bear Notch Road. If you plan on driving the Kancamagus Highway during the holiday weekend, you must be ready for slow-moving traffic. Last weekend, long, massive lines of traffic formed from Lincoln to Conway. We recommend driving this road before 10 AM.

Snowmobiling in the area has been decent around town but excellent as you gain elevation. These photos are atop Black Cap Mountain which overlooks North Conway village, a popular summer hike during the warmer season.
