My Travel Year in Review:

2024 was a year for us to explore new places…

In February - we set sail on 🛳Royal Caribbean’s Anthem of the Seas🛳 – our first Royal Caribbean cruise as a family, and our third cruise in just under a year. Yes – we too have been bitten by the “cruising bug”.

This Quantum Class ship provided plenty of onboard fun. The kids had a blast hanging out in the SeaPlex, riding bumper cars, playing basketball, video games, and more. We all tried out the FlowRider surfing simulator, and had fun watching other cruisers flying high on the iFLY skydiving simulator. We enjoyed the amazing shows and views from Two70 – a spectacular venue at the rear of the ship with floor-to-ceiling windows, and I introduced my family to the “silent disco”. We all had a blast at Royal Caribbean’s private island – Perfect Day at CocoCay – and enjoyed the wave pool and water slides within the Thrill Waterpark there.

While in port in Nassau, we took a day trip to check out 🌟Grand Hyatt Baha Mar🌟. What an absolutely beautiful and FUN resort, that I highly recommend for families and adult-only vacations alike!

The summertime had me back at my happy place - 🏰Walt Disney World🏰 - for our agency’s annual Platinum EarMarked AEP event. This time I stayed at Disney’s Boardwalk Inn – located in the desirable EPCOT Resort Area – which is within walking distance to both EPCOT and Hollywood Studios.

In addition to catching up on all the latest and greatest that Walt Disney World Resort has to offer, this year I also had the opportunity to head out to Port Canaveral for a day, where we received a personalized tour of the 🛳Disney Wish🛳. This ship is absolutely STUNNING. We were able to tour a variety of different staterooms, restaurant and bar areas, the OVER-THE-TOP-AMAZING Oceaneer’s Club (Kids Club), pools, and more.

Next up – we had a large family celebration vacation planned in the Dominican Republic, where we stayed at the super-fun 🏝Dreams Onyx Resort & Spa🏝 – a family friendly Hyatt Inclusive Collection resort in Punta Cana. The resort grounds were lovely, and the food options were plenty! We had lots of fun each day in the pools and lazy river, the beach, and of course, at the pool bars. At night we got to try out all of the different specialty dining options – Steakhouse, Italian, Mediterranean, French, and Teppanyaki – and each one was better than the last. The nighttime entertainment was amazing, and the kids had a blast going out on the banana boat.

Up next – we will be cruising with Royal Caribbean again in early spring 2025 – this time on 🛳Oasis of the Seas🛳 – celebrating another family milestone. Our summer 2025 vacation destinations are still in the planning stages, and we are looking to hopefully head to 🏝Aruba🏝 in September to celebrate our anniversary. We even have some 2026 plans on the books already too – believe it or not!? – but mum🤫 is the word on these for now – as they are still currently in the “surprise!” phase 😊

I hope that in 2025 EVERYONE gets to take AT LEAST ONE amazing vacation – whether that’s a trip on their own – one with friends or a significant other – or one with their immediate family or extended families. We all work hard, and a vacation is an amazing opportunity to take a much needed and deserved break – to experience something new – and to create memories that will last a lifetime.
