Hot weekend followed by some cooler weather. Either way great days to be on a boat ! 🐬🏝️😎🇺🇸

Have you enjoyed the relatively cooler and low-humidity air? I hope so because more is coming next week after a hotter and increasingly humid weekend! This will result in highs in the low to mid 80s and lows in the 60s for much of next week.

And...NO TROPICAL THREAT through next weekend.

The Intracoastal Waterway is more than just a scenic landmark in Myrtle Beach; it is a small part of one of the largest infrastructure projects in American history. First proposed in 1808, the idea was to create a network of inland canals connecting major rivers and ports. Ships carrying cargo could sail in those rivers and canals to reduce time on the open ocean, minimizing dangers from storms and pirates. Construction began on the portion of Waterway in Horry County in 1932, and even though a lot of trade has moved from ships to other means of transportation, the Waterway is still important. It is great for boating, as you can see in the picture here, and fishing and serves as a habitat for many species of local wildlife from insects to birds and fish.
