Stopped at a new nearby business today called ! What a cute place! They are located in downtown Banks, Oregon. It’s about a 15 minute drive from the guesthouse. They also serve breakfast and lunch! So glad I stopped!

The last two weeks, Eric and I have been exploring New Mexico! We had never been! So in a nutshell here is our trip! Started in and ended in Albuquerque! We saw so many amazing places and even got to spend time with family. Some highlights for me was seeing the bat flight and the in . I kept a road journal so now we can look back and digest our trip! 1 motel, 2 hotels, 2 airbnbs, 1 bed and breakfast and 3 nights with family! Whew! Great trip but it’s good to be home!

Throwback time! Look at those trucks! This is downtown North Plains in the early 1960’s. My husband remembers it this way but I came along much later. The buildings are still there. Mays Bros is now Kim’s Market and liquor store and the building attached is Pilgrim's Roasted Nut'Z and the knights of Pythias upstairs.

I just love this map I had framed at in Forest Grove! It’s so cool how it shows museums, wineries, farms, , parks, golf courses and more! The blue star is us! ❤️ it! What do you think? Will guests love it too?

Three years ago today we open as a vacation rental and listed Eric’s mom house on . It’s been a wonderful adventure, meeting great guests from all over the world. We opened even thought the back yard wasn’t finished and the landscape still needed some work. It didn’t ruin the experience guests had staying at the remodeled 1950’s home. The sign was the first thing I had made for the guesthouse. Thank you for all your support over the last 3 years! Happy Anniversary to us!

Not too far from the guesthouse is . What a fun family friendly place with beautiful sunflowers, food, gift shop and even some animals to pet! August is the perfect time to visit.

Today we played tourist! We highly recommend ! It was so nice not battling for a parking spot! Hop on hop off! 6 gorgeous waterfalls and beautiful scenery! Runs May 25-September 2nd. 13 and up $33, 6-12 $17, 0-5 free! We saw all ages on board. Met nice people and just had a great day! Please try it if you haven’t! So worth the money! Only an hour from the guesthouse!

Mt. Hood. Only 1 1/2 hours from the guesthouse and a wonderful day trip! The views are spectacular! Eric and I got to go Monday and the weather was near perfect! Did you know Mt Hood is the second most climbed mountain in the world? Can you guess which is the first?

How about some before, during and after photos! My in-laws built this home in 1951. The pinkish tile was very popular then and I have to say it held up pretty well. With the built in vanity it made the bathroom very small. It made a huge difference taking that vanity out and removing all the tile. We kept the original cast iron tub and had it repainted. Not sure why I chose blue but I’ve always thought blue looked so clean and fresh. Now the bathroom is so much more roomy and usable. Plenty of hooks for towels and a rolling cart for your toiletries! I hope you enjoyed the before and after! #1951

A small afternoon trip to ! Such a beautiful garden and nursery about 20 minutes from the guesthouse! Open Fri to Sun, April to October. They also schedule private events if you ask! Definitely worth a stop!
