A FIRST FOR US!!! ❄️☀️

Our recent guests…Peter & Stephanie…hiked Angel Rocks…in the SNOW!!! 🤩❄️😎

Many of our guests venture out on this wonderful hike…near Chena Hot Springs Resort
…during our Summer months…but not during the Winter. ❄️☀️

Peter & Stephanie had a blast…snowshoeing up to the top! 🏔️

The trail had only been ‘lightly’ used before they got to the trailhead. They said it was a good workout and that they followed up with a ‘soak’ in the Springs and a ‘yummy’ meal in the lodge. 🍽️

I was born and raised here…and have not done this yet! 😲 Definitely on my list of things to do in the Spring before the snow melts! ❄️

Lowbush cranberries, also known as lingonberries, grow in colorful abundance in Alaska. They have an invigorating, tart flavor and have long been valued by Alaska Natives for their sustaining properties.

The flavors blend particularly well with poultry or wild game. The sauce is lightly sweetened with sugar and Alaskan pure birch syrup. Use to accompany a Thanksgiving dinner, as a preserve on toast or yogurt, with nut butters, and in dessert recipes.

Changed the horse’s (and goldfish 😜) trough at + 4 degrees yesterday! ❄️☀️

Emptied trough…then 5 trips x 2 buckets of water each…from the house to the trough and got it filled right back up! 🪣💦

Fun lil’ workout gettin’ the job done at + 4 degrees. Not gonna’ be quite as much fun…at 30 below!!! 🥶🤣
