I was just reminiscing about my trip to New Zealand 8 years ago and one of the aspects that was so fantastic, aside from the fact that New Zealand is an amazingly beautiful country with something for everyone, was the travel to and from. One of the reasons a lot of people don’t ever get to visit is because of the long flight there. Air New Zealand knows how to do it. Big fluffy comforters, your “bed” made up with sheets, pajamas to change into. I slept so well for 8 of the 12-hours flight from LAX. U.S.-based airlines should take a look at how this is done and replicate their business class.

Scenes from Rome - while our visit coincided with Pope Francis’ funeral, the city was well organized and orderly. Throngs of crowds but manageable and we were able to get most of our tours in. We ate enough pizza and pasta for a month! And don’t get me started on the wine……..
