Lots of Tarpon passing by the end with a few taking a bait now and again. Some larger sized Spanish eating live baits off the king rigs. Those putting in work might get some Blues or Spanish. Still some nice bottom fish to get caught but you need to fish though the night with luck and you may get some Trout, Black Drum and Sea Mullet. Sheepheads and Black drum caught by those fishing closes to the pilings.

One week away from summer but the fish are biting like summer is already here. Live baits work best in the months of summer. Sheepshead, Black Drum, Trout, Sea Mullet and Red Drum and the fish that can be caught with live baits. Flounders are being released when caught since they also eat live baits. Although some nice bottom fish are caught you do need to work thru pin fish and rays to get at them fishing cut shrimp on the bottom. With these stronger winds and larger ground swell from a low press system offshore you might have some better luck with some bottom fish this weekend. Those fishing live bait off the King Rigs picked up a few Spanish with no luck with the kings. Tarpon are seen migrating by.

Seems as the good spring action has slowed down. As the water warms the fish seem to be getting into summer time mode. Which is were live baits get the bigger fish and you need to work through pin fish and skates when fishing cut baits on the bottom. Some Black Drum, Sea Mullet, Trout and Blue Fish have been caught on cut baits. Still some Spanish and Blue fish for those working the Got-Cha lure and Diamond jigs but you may need to put in some work on days. Lighter winds going into this weekend might get some king action but most likely some nice sized Spanish will get caught. Almost that time of year to start seeing those Tarpon swimming by as they migrate north to the Pamlico Sound. Sheepshead are starting to be seen around the pilings.

Water temp getting into the lower 70s and some nice bottom fish have been caught this week. Black Drum, Sea Mullet, Trout and Blue Fish have been caught on cut baits on the bottom. The dirty water made it more work to put those sight feeders on the deck but it was done. Some Spanish Mackerel and Blue fish caught on Got-Cha plug and Diamond jigs. No luck with the King Mackerel but that could change going into this weekend since the winds are not as strong so the water will clear up some.

A couple more King Mackerel have been decked this week with good amounts of Spanish Mackerel and Blue Fish caught on Got-cha plugs and Diamond Jigs. The sight feeder action may slow down with the higher winds this weekend. Those higher winds might slow down the sight feeder but the bottom bite could pick up some. Black drum, Sea Mullet, Trout, Pompano and Blue Fish have been caught by those fishing cut baits on the bottom.

Some Spanish Mackerel also being caught. Bottom fishing is still good at times with Sea Mullet, Black Drum, Trout and Pompano biting. A few flounders being released.
