Our gorgeous beach is open! The Flip Flip Inn and Pearl by the Sea have great weeks available. You’ll find the kitchen equipped “just like home”, beach chairs, w/ pool,tennis or pickle ball nearby, and everything you need! Just bring yourself! Holidays have come and gone. New Year arrives although in no time at all spring and warm weather will be here and our gorgeous beach awaits. Today is the annual "book direct" education day. By booking direct you avoid worthless fees that Online Travel Agencies such as Expedia (owns Vrbo and HA) or Airbnb charge. They don't want you to know about their fee and hope you don't realize it is there.

If you're coming for a visit to the Flip Flop Inn or Pearl by the Sea in NTB and need an ice cream fix..the best place on the island is Tiki Turtle's! They serve only REAL HOMEMADE ice cream. So delicious! For the family member that can't do milk products..they have you covered w/ a non-dairy dipping dots option. Something for everyone! Enjoy!

Best option is to BOOK DIRECT to avoid worthless “Expedia” fees! (Expedia owns Homeaway and Vrbo, so when you rent through them, you are paying Expedia.)

The Flip Flop Inn and Pearl by the Sea are great beach homes and no Expedia fees! Our gorgeous beach homes are in a small premier community, on a private street and with an amazing beach! Give me a call or check my calendar.

A Manitoba man who was billed over $6,000 for a one-night hotel stay, with only $200 charged for the room itself, says he'll never use Expedia again. The company now says it will refund his money and provide a $200 voucher.

Then there were curtains...

After hurricane Flo ravaged North Topsail Beach, our beautiful “Pearl by the Sea” beach home had to undergo a not-so-fun forced transformation. All furniture had to be taken out, drywall and insulation removed from walls and ceilings.

The Pearl went from a cozy beach home and fun, family retreat to an bare and empty shell lacking its special personality.

Coming to the coast to do repairs meant no visits to Riverview, which also had major damage from the storm. Along the journey back, the Pearl slowly began to recover as well as our very favorite place to enjoy seafood, Riverview Cafe.

So repairs began and the months slowly ticked by for both the Pearl by the Sea and the Riverview. It was great news to hear the Riverview Cafe, would eventually reopen in a few months. We’d be able to enjoy hush puppies in their (well known) little bowls, really great seafood, amazing pie, and on occasion soft shell crab.

Both the Pearl and the Riverview were getting new tile floors and a fresh coat of paint on newly hung drywall.

The Pearl is slowly coming back better and even more beautiful. The same was happening at the Riverview..new floors..walls, and kitchen repairs for them. “Miss Janice” would surely be trolling the waters again soon for some good tasting shrimp and flounder!

For me..it was the little things bringing life back into the Pearl.....just those curtains....

I am so excited to see my Dolphin Weathervane standing tall again at the Flip Flop Inn!

North Topsail is recovering from the storm this past fall and everything is returning to be the gorgeous and quiet little island that we all love.

North Topsail Beach is known for Loggerhead turtles. A visit to Surf City to the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center is always fun and interesting to see!

A bill in the N.C. House would make the turtles a state animal
