Educational Consulting, Dr. O'Halloran helps students and families navigate the college application process with confidence and ease. With over 20 years of teaching experience in the Honors Program and English Departments at Big Ten colleges and private universities, Eileen knows colleges inside and out. She founded her own consulting firm to share her knowledge and wisdom about college life and e
xpectations with families who are seeking guidance on this often daunting process.
Eileen is an educator at heart, and she believes in empowering students to own their college application process and future goals. Whether from her work at DePaul University in Chicago, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, or in a study abroad program at Trinity College, Dublin for students from the University of Michigan/University of Wisconsin, Eileen brings college-level teaching experience to families so they are prepared to launch their own college goals. In addition to her work in universities and her Ph.D. in English, what sets Eileen apart is her active listening and genuine care for her clients. She has spent a lifetime helping to build confidence and enthusiasm for learning with her high school and college-bound students, and as a result, they find success with both their application process and their undergraduate or graduate years. Eileen's students each year gain admission to Ivy League colleges, large state and mid-size private universities, and smaller liberal arts colleges.
Along with her extensive knowledge of college admissions, Eileen is also very aware of admissions policies and strategies concerning applying to college both during and post-COVID, ensuring that her clients stay ahead of the curve in these ever-changing times. At the core of Eileen's philosophy is a commitment to helping families and students make informed decisions about their future. She believes in empowering them with the knowledge and resources they need to achieve their goals and find success both in college and beyond.
Note: Eileen is honored to work pro bono with a few students each year and to help them find success in their applications and their undergraduate years. A first generation college student herself, Eileen believes that everyone should have access to college.
